For the Top Sets I create, they are my personal opinion of what should be highlighted. Of course many people will agree / disagree. I would also like to point out that if we were to make this all about the bboys that make it to the finals, you'd only end up with one or two variety of dancers in this highlight clip. I've never seen Franklin before; the same with many other Koreans, so hopefully you can understand our awe when we saw that. The same goes for other sets. Kareem and Nieks stuff were great, too. They were shortlisted, but couldn't include them all. At least for the Top Sets I compile, they are all based on the hypeness opinions of the spectators and myself during the event. Might be different watching on video. There's no secret policy, I can assure you. LOL. Unless your name is Domkey.

Earlier in the competition they had some technical difficulties, where the voting device the judges had weren't being read by the system or something. It appeared that the first few battles weren't truly judged as some judges weren't able to input their score. This was noticeable as some of the judges looked confused after seeing the result.

What do you think style is? It's the way you move. everyone uses the same foundations, but their experiences and influences make those basic "movements" unique to them. So you're incorrect, it's still all about style, it's just people are starting to realize there's more ways to express the style of a movement than just footwork. Don't get me wrong, footwork is important, but it's not the only relevant movement in breaking. I'm tired of people thinking footwork is the be all end all.

@ Orelion OUR judging system is a fair judging system that unifies all the perspectives in bboying to come up with a concrete decision. I was there at the venue last night watching the battle right in front of my eyes. you guys cant judge vibe of the competition by just watching in front of your computer screen.

Issei is a powermover who occasionally throws in a bit of basic footwork. Blond is also a powermover. He has some difficult combos but his moves aren't that much more distinctive than Issei's moves. I'm not criticizing them because they are amazing bboys who can do crazy difficult stuff but neither of them fit the definition of "well-rounded". And yet, both of them made it to the finals. Personally I find flaws with the OUR system myself but your example isn't the best example to use here...

not to sound like a smart-ass, but the system has to favor well rounded over originality... originality is a category that IS scored lol. But if you think that issei has no distinctive quality, then you are wrong. His style is unique. His toprock IMO is the most hyped up one yet. His powermoves are very unique. Hong10 and Blond are legends. Give Issei more time. He is still young and still learning but soon enough he will become a legend just like them. Heck ppl are inspired by him already.

there should also be more than 5 points per category, although dyzee mentioned to raise the points step by step. 5 points are just to liitle to determine a proper difference. they should also revise the categories a bit. and i personally think every judge should judge all the 5 categories. don't see this as flaming or something. the OUR system is a great idea and it is pretty new. these are just some points i personally kinda "criticize".

Good points but the R16 system was developed with the intention that the well rounded bboy would win. Its only flawed in the sense if you think originality is the thing that should always take precendent over everything.

It's not my point to show only the finalists, don't misunderstand me for this. You show only some trendy stuffs - air chairs hoppin of Franklin as examples and I really think, that there were stronger sets than this. Examples - Kareem first set was nasty, Slav and Niek sets has some good points. I just really hope that this kind of footage is not creating hype around certain bboys and is not some policy of StrifeTV.
