I love ToneRider pickups... Every design on all kinds of guitars... I've never been disappointed.

This is exactly the kind of video I've been looking for. I've been wanting to upgrade the pickups in my Squire Tele. Thank you!

Great demo, I was genuinely surprised by the variance of tone, or what I at least perceived to be "quality". Tonerider seem to do an amazing job an all their pickups. I did put some Artec's in a very cheap Squier "MM" Strat though, and they sound good to me. Maybe luck, maybe amp settings.

It depends on personal sound preference as well...to me it was the BYO....sounded a much fuller and less focused dynamic range... For me, that's more of the blues sound platform that I personally seek... I would go further and put a .22 capacitor on the neck and a .47 on the bridge.
@guitarcollectorguy8 күн бұрын
It really does depend upon personal preferences.

Capacitor suggestion is a good one. I will have to try. Normally I put a .047 single cap in the circuit.

@@guitarcollectorguy I've had good experiences with Revel too. They have some nice sets right on the $100 mark, including some P-90 hybrid sets for tele.

@@joe.nail1I went Paulo Duro. The description fit what i was looking for and they do not disappoint. I have also used an Extra Crispy in an Esquier and their Blonde Ale Strat pickups which were super chimey. All sounded incredible. Definitely worth the lead time.

I had a set of Tonerider Hot Classics in an MIJ Tele a while back. Exceptionally good pickups, still regret selling that guitar.

They are a great pickup!

I've used Artec before but never really satisfied for a Tele. I bought a Fender mim that had Tex Mex pups, I wasnt impressed , ripped them out. Out of these 6 sets, I would pick the Wilkinson over the others because of it's punch. But none of these have the punch and twang of a Telecaster bridge pickup that i expect it to have before I'll install it on one of my Teles.

I know they don’t meet the requirements of the test but you need to check out boot strap pickups at some point. They are unbelievable.

Awesome comparison, but it seems to me that the you mislabeled the Fender bridge tone as "neck" tone and vice versa 🙂 It would also be awesome if you added the stock pickups to the comparison .

I promise they are labeled correctly.

I read somewhere that Artec pickups were made by Fleor, at least the P90's
@Paul_Lenard_Ewing17 күн бұрын
I think you have that backwards. Artec have been around for decades. They make guitars and pedals. for years they have been the OEM for many famous brands. Wilkinson also makes reliable spec parts. Their PU's are made in Korea but use American wire. They even had Seth Lover the designer of the PAF design PU's for them when he was alive.

I thought the Artec neck was best of all. Wasn't overly impressed with the bridge (i actually have that bridge in one of my Tele's. As far as the whole set goes, i gotta go with Fender Tex Mex. But its pretty close.
