Was there a sirpules in USA 2024? No, the United States did not have a surplus in 2024, but instead experienced a budget deficit. A budget deficit occurs when the government spends more money than it receives in revenue. In 2024, the federal government spent $6.75 trillion, but only collected $4.92 trillion, resulting in a deficit of $1.83 trillion. Then why are the leaders giving themselves raises if there was not a surplus shouldn't they be making cuts or investing more to make more revenues . What would happen if the people did not pay their bills , such as their taxes and went in to debt?
