The media make seem like he directly aim the weapon at the victim , where I’ve been told the bullet/prop had bounced off from a target and hit the victim . I recall some years ago a film about the Younger gang. I think David Carradine starred. A period western with a lot of Bank robberies and shoot outs. There was one scene where they set up a camera to record the inside of a wooden door as bullets passed through for the dramatic effect. Being a fairly low budget production the crew actually brought real rifles in to the work place or on set, and had several employees actually shoot many real bullets at the same time. No accidents occurred at the time of filming but the real rifles were not immediately controlled and removed from the set and were left laying around. Some time later someone realized that the real guns with real ammo were still there and could have been accidentally discharged.

This is heartbreaking for #AlecBaldwin. He is a man I've grown up watching his career and consider him a good man. May they discover what happened soon so that the families can have the answers that they need and are allowed to fully grieve. I hope Alec will reach out to the Archbishop of Los Angeles , Bishop Robert Barron. They are not only the same age but His Eminence, will bring comfort and light to this tragedy 💔 ✝️

The person handling a fire arm should be practicing gun safety as well as a props tech. 10 yr Olds who hunt with responsible parents, relatives, siblings or friends know this and have to take a gun safety course, in most states before receiving a hunting license. Tragic but no excuse

So it's true that, as I was once told, that the prop guns' barrels are solid inside, with only pinholes to discharge flame and smoke that make them look real. IE, there's not even cotton balls shot out of the muzzle in newer prop guns. Excellent.

It's very ODD,that a gun that was supposed to be used with blank bullets was installed with live rounds instead.It raised my suspicion that maybe some one with ulterior motive could install the live bullets on purpose,knowing that due diligence would not be done,because in principle live bullets are not allowed,so the actor would have no second thought to the use of same during their acting routines. I feel empathy for the actor involved and the families whose loved ones who were casualties of such incidence.They are in my prayers.
