Since I find myself bouncing back and forth between Linux, macOS and Windows, I generally stick with the default SSH tool for each platform. I might have to take a look at mobaxterm and see if they have a special pricing for non-profits. I have got a server with a few docker containers running at the library and this might make things easier than just the OpenSSH built into Windows.

This really shines because I could be working on 50 different linux machines and 100 or so different windows servers etc. Being able to organize all my connections is nice when I'm doing something that I can't just automate.

Do you recommend buying the paid version of mobaxterm?

I do it's really not very expensive and a well developed tool I think. I've migrated a bit from it recently though as I move away from Windows more but it's still good. I'd suggest trying out this, mremoteng, and royalts, and see which one fits your needs most. For me it was MobaXTerm for years

Devolutions Remote Desktop has many options as well. Very similR to RoyalTS but it does have a free version.
