There are many forms of horror that have been enjoyed by many people, and one such form that was popular in the 2010s but slowly died off only to get somewhat of a resurgence is internet horror stories called Creepypastas. These stories could be about anything and everything, and as a result, the quality was inconsistent to say the least. Despite that, I’ve found myself a fan of these stories and having a few favorites amongst the pack, and this video will rank said favorites of mine.

My favorite creepypasta is probably every copy of mario 64 is personalized. I like the fact that this 90s family friendly video game is twisted into a analog horror series about a personalized AI randomizing super Mario 64 And the Wario apparition is utterly terrifying once you think about it. The giant head of wario manifesting into existence and chases you down claiming that he'll show you "fun" is interesting Plus people said that Mario 64 feels liminal and I agree with it. Especially wet dry world

Sonic.exe/X, I mean out of the older creepypastas X still sticks around and becomes better than ever did. My favorite ones are 2011x/Lord X and EXE/Faker. (Although I also love Slenderman, Smile Dog, and Eyeless Jack)

Honestly, the thing about the story of Laughing Jack that intrigues me the most is the usage of boarding schools. It’s honestly a unique take on how horribly one’s life can fall apart from a simple misunderstanding, and how they have the potential to easily transform the most innocent kid ever into a straight up psychopath. All because the government claims to use these to help people, yet refuses to asses how misguided and/or spiteful parents can be in forcing their children away to essentially be locked out of the outside world. On a separate note, though, have you ever heard of El Pendrive Azul/The Blue Pendrive (first ever Sonic creepypasta that predated Sonic.EXE)?

Man, I have been eagerly waiting for this. I freaking love creepypastas, learning about the characters and lore, the reception it has among others, and just the thrill of it. Sonic.EXE would most likely be on the list with perhaps Pokémon as well. Both franchises have more than enough creepypastas for their own separate lists. 1. Good intro scenes but music felt out of place idk it is still good though and music is an annoying thing to handle. 2. Good criteria and thanks for the warning for the faint of heart. 3. Honestly I am not the biggest fan of or are aware of many creepypastas but honestly you did a great job at recapping, explaining, and representing them and if I were to make a tier list for these stories it would be similar but add a category called “okay but has potential” (mainly for eyeless jack and smile dog). 4. Did you forget how crazy a person is without sleep, let me tell you it is not pretty. 5. Ah the most iconic creepypasta and in a very agreeable position. 6. Slenderman is iconic and a good enigma but led to the worst era of horror game gameplay 7. I did not expect the 2nd most joked about creepypasta became 2nd on the list but honestly thank goodness people know how to make a bad thing good and vice versa if you know you know. Also you know how to jab hard and in the best way possible. 8. How is it that all things rebound to become the opposite of the legacy they have you all know what Disney makes great and ruins at the same time.

While sonic.exe isn't my personal favorite, it holds a certain nostalgia due to me first finding out it existed back in 2014. A time where i first found out about creepypastas and thought they were real. Yeah, i thought a giant clay apple was going to appear in my house at night. silly, i know. Now what you said before about JC the hyena getting what he wanted really made me think and realize something. He did not win in the slightest. Sure, sonic.exe did become the popular and beloved creepypasta character he dreamed of. But i believe its not how he wanted it to be. His creepypastas, both sonic.exe's 1 and 2, are both pretty bad. The character sonic.exe isn't really that creepy until said fangame of him was created. Basically, sonic.exe is just evil sonic. Sure, thinking about that would be pretty sad and frightening. But its not done in a great way. Its just an evil bloody sonic killing two friends and eggman. And nothing is ever explained as to why that's the case. Same could be said about the sequel. But then again, there is literally nothing that should be said about the sequel. However, with many people's takes on the character, they actually made the character far better than JC ever could. They actually develop the character as an ancient demonic force to control sonic, known as exeitor. And even then, they also developed the demonic entity as well, at least when it comes to making it "zalgo"ish/mysterious. So again, while JC's sonic.exe character did get recognition, it was never because of him and his own doing. It was the fans of said story, who made his "evil sonic" into a much better character in every single way possible. And that very thought would piss him off, knowing that the sonic.exe of today isn't anything like his. The sonic.exe of today is the definition of "hellish god". And also because fans have made better sonic.exe pastas too.

I would honestly say that sonic.EXE is the second most known creepy pasta besides slender man. I'm pretty sure that everyone in the world knows what sonic.EXE is.

I completely agree with Sonic exe, I absolutely love Sonic exe but I do want to quickly mention how I got into it, one game, Sonic exe spirits of hell, back then, I didn’t even know about sonic exe heck I thought exeller was metal sonic, yes I was very dumb but I loved that game and so i looked more into it and the rest is history, I don’t care the fact that Sonic exe gets a lot of hate, I love Sonic exe and I’m glad to be a fan along with you.

I know that these are classic creepypastas with notoriety (and possible fan-expansions) built up over the years, but speaking personally, I’m more of a fan of modern creepypastas such as Mayhem Mountain. I’m subscribed to a few channels that narrate creepypastas (with Dark Somnium being my favorite), and a couple of my favorites from him are Nightmare Fighting Tournament, The Face of Fear, and especially The Forest of a Thousand Legs.
