Thanks for the list. A little history about our farm and molines. Our farm bought our. G1000 brand new. We had 2 John deere 4020s one was stock with a loader and the other 4020 they put a “hot turbo” and injectors on it. Grandpa always said the “hot” 4020 was equal in pulling power to the g1000. Even though he said it was the g1000 I thought was a stronger puller. About 1970-1971 they told our local moline dealer he had to convert to white (brand) implements and tractors. He was SUPER upset. I’m talking he called white up and told them to pick up the blanking moline sign he’s done. So the g1000 was one of the last molines he sold. At the time we were mostly John deere, and a little moline. Grandpa always kidded me because dad and him would run the John deere stuff and I ran the g1000. Well because our local moline dealer basically was being forced into white and he didn’t like that he closed shop around 1978 or 1979. From 1972-to when he closed I remember he would try a brand for a year or two didn’t like it he would go onto the next. He did this three different brands then after the third brand he tried he didn’t like he closed.

The first photo of the M670 was exactly the same tractor we had one on the farm I grew up on. Awesome tractor. A lot of time was spent on that tractor. Enjoyed every minute of it.

I was a young boy when I fell in love with Minneapolis Moline. My father took me to the truck and tractor pull and your #8 MM A4T 1600 was there. It was the biggest and coolest thing I had ever seen. 😍

I own three 4-Stars. Two gas and one LP unit. My Dad/Grandpa bought a 4-Star gas-powered tractor new and it has a bazillion hours on it and still runs great. Then I found another gas unit with so few hours on it the hood ornament was still attached. Then I found a 4-Star LP model that runs great but needs some TLC. It's a very unique tractor with an odd front axle. We also owned a Z and a UB Special. The Z is in a fencerow somewhere and the UB was restored by a neighbor after changing ownership a few times. My Grandpa was a silent partner in a local dealership. Oddly enough the 4-Stars push and pull about as well as our Allis Chalmers 180, which at mmmmmmllll. Which has always been a great tractor.

Back in the late ‘60s-70s two of our tractors were 1) 4 star gasser, 2) U302 diesel wide front. The U302 was stingy on fuel, plenty of power for our operation. Also had an IH Super C w/ fast hitch; great power units for our medium sized farm back in the day. Little under sized by some standards, but we spent more time in fields, MUCH smaller (or no) payments! I really loved the U302 & C as a young twenty something hardworking farmer, spending $ on cows not iron.

On our farm way out here in Oregon, we ONLY used Minneapolis Molines up until the early 2000s. And I gotta say the Udlx was awesome, but sadly it never took off because it was just too far ahead of its time. Farmers either didn't want to spend that kind of money on a tractor or they thought their peers would call them a wus for using a cab on their tractor. But I think the BEST MM was the U seris, super heavy and rugged. However, the '65 M670 comes a very close second. We got one on the farm here and use it just about everyday and we've managed to rack up about 30,000 hours on her. By far, favorite tractor ever! Plus we got a M670 super with about 15,000 hours and a Jetstar3 with like 12,000 hours I think, so MM knew how to make a tractor! It only took 60 years to figure it out.

We had a jet star 3. It was okay for little things like running the auger, or little jobs. We had a moline 4 star and a Deere 3020 with a 6 row deere row corn planter. I’ll admit eventually the farm converted to deere and cat . But grandpa always picked on me because if I planted for him I’d use the old 4 star and he would use the 3020.

The reason there weren't many MM's and Olivers in my area was because there were no nearby dealers. BTW The Unitractor was bought buy out by New Idea which after upgrades and up powered became the moderately successful New Idea Unisystem. Good work D.

Yesterday, I saw a guy driving a Minneapolis Moline lawn mower. BUT, a modern one. It looked brand spanking new. It had the smooth look of a new Simplicity style body. But probably twice as big. With aggressive rear tires. It looked like nothing else on the market. I've searched every where on the internet and I have not seen another. Has anyone seen this? I can't imagine it being home made. It was dark yellow, red rims. Super cool. Hopefully someone out there has seen this.

New Idea guys came thrun the factory in 1962 and later purchased the rights to the system and we built the last Uni's (brown Mule) as New Idea made by Minneapolis Moline division of Motec Industries in1963 (During White Motors acquisition). This I know having been on final inspection / test stand the last two years we made them.

Yes they did-MM tractors had their own diesels in them until White bought them out, White mixed different engines in their brands the last tractor to have an MM diesel was the White 2-150. The last few years of MM , they were basically yellow Oliver tractors, although the bigger models still used the MM 585 diesel mated to Oliver rear and trans. They were both under ownership of White Motors.

My grandfather and dad also my Uncles had a B. F. AVERY AND EVENTUALLY A Minneapolis Moline Dealership in the late 1940's and 1950's Moline did not provide Dealer Support that John Deere or IHC did therefore not very good customer support... we were spoiled in our area as a small boy I remember that we had 5 John Deere dealerships with in 10 to 30 minutes distance from home and 3 IHC DEALERS WITH IN 40 MINUTES FROM HOME.. A J.I. CASE DEALER 20 MINUTES FROM HOME AND A Massey Dealer 15 minutes from home..I think there was an Oliver dealership in the County also that eventually became a White dealer..

Having never owned or driven and MM tractor and the fact they were few and far between in my area..... I'd still like to give my list based on hearsay from a couple people I know/knew who owned MM tractors, tractor pulling in farm stock against them and one of my first toys being a G1000 hot rod puller. In no real particulate order..... other than the G1000 Vista should be #1. BTW I know nothing of the older models from the 30's etc. #1 = G1000 Vista #2 = M670 #3 = 5 Star #4 = 445 #5 = Z #6 = GBD #7 = G1355 #8 = U302 #9 = UB #10 = A4T-1600
