Carnivorous plant enthusiasts will tell you VFT are not indoor plants. They do much better in full sun. They are also unlikely to eat gnats. If you want something to eat gnats, butterworts (pinguicula) are much better indoor plants and will eat smaller bugs. That said, VFTs are cute and fun little plants, and not something that is usually included in lists like this.
