Rock Band 2 will always be my favorite, not only is the world tour really good but it was A HUGE upgrade from the first one. Sure RB1’s setlist is great and all, but going back to it now is kinda bad. So yeah if you’re looking for a really good rock band experience, I’d recommend playing 2 or 3.

@@Gheeotine For real. I'm a huge Rock Band fan, but only on the older Rock Band games, like Rock Band 2 and Lego Rock Band. I made way many people on Rock Band games a lot more than other games, obviously.

I've only gotten the chance to play lrb put of this list, but I've always kinda of seen rock band as a guitar hero knock off, I never knew really anything about the series, and I'm not going to lie part of me wishes that me and my sister had bugged by parents for more rock band games and at least a drumset as now a-days the drum sets are pretty difficult to come by and I REALLY want to learn how to play drums, I enjoy playing guitar and all but drums just seem fun, I never knew hoe much content these games had either theres a surprising number of bands with music id love to play in these games, this was a very insightful video thank you!

@@Gheeotine It's also because the licensing of the songs was *fucking expensive.* That, and Apple Corp (the studio that owns the copyrights to the Beatles discography) REALLY did not want the multitracks in the game to be leaked online, like what happened with the previous Rock Band titles.

Ain't no way this dude actually put RB4 above RB3. Rock Band 3 was one of the most innovative games in the entire franchise, and has a massive following in the form of custom content. RB4 was dogshit because of its chaotic launch, garbage instruments, removal of all of the Pro instruments (except the Drums), and a garbage setlist. Like, seriously, out of the 65 songs from the on-disc setlist, I can only name 5 of them; - Centuries by Fall Out Boy - Panama by Van Halen - Somebody Told Me by The Killers - Superunknown by Soundgarden - Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars Meanwhile, with Rock Band 3, I can name damn near every song from the on-disc setlist. It stands up there with LRB & RB2s setlist as one of the greatest setlists of all time in the franchise. OK, rant over. Just my opinion.

I can respect that opinion. Although it kind of illustrates the point that 3 was bloated with features that were unlikely to be used since most of the pro instruments were removed for 4.

Rock Band 2 is peak rhythm game. It feels the most responsive and has the best on disc track list of the whole series. I can’t tell you how many times I know I hit a note in RB3 only for the game to say “no you didn’t lmao” I also HATE the visual post 2. They made they game look far too cartoony and colorful. Which reminded me of guitar hero. I never liked the look of that series outside of GH3.

That's just bad calibration and the dynamic hit window trolling you. RB3 actually feels quite good if you play the deluxe mod. Overall though RB2 is the best of the series. No Dynamic trash hit window, good calibration system that actually works, amazing setlist, and the artstyle overall looks the best.

RB3 and LRB DS play a lot like Unplugged with the song list and features of RB3 and LRB respectfully with some differences with the cutscenes being pre-rendered meaning your custom characters are not going to appear in them and has some songs cut with those in there having lower audio quality do to the DS cartridge size. You can even use the touch screen to hit notes making the harder difficulty charts a lot more easier then Unplugged.

I understand the gripe but at the same time, they’re the Beatles. My gripe is that by the time the game was released the genre was dying and not enough people bought it for Harmonix to warrant the expense of converting more of their albums as DLC for it. Such an absolute joy to get together with family and friends to play and sing the songs of the Beatles together. Great memories!

I would have, but I tried it back in the day and the guitar hero controller never resonated with me. The drums in Rock Band I immediately took to though. Maybe I'll revisit.

I can see where you are coming from with Green Day over Beatles but what really kills it for me is the bad latency on modern TVs for Green Day Rock Band. I tried replaying it and no matter how many time I calibrated it something would be out of sync. Also I don't really like the Rock Band 2 engine when it comes to the Strum Limit and the unforgiving vocal engine. I wanna say Rock Band 3 is better but when fixing both issues there they decided to innovate by adding lanes into guitar charts and they don't work as advertised. Hell they didn't work until Rock Band 4. So two different perspectives: You playing a drummer and me as a guitarist. Also I am surprised to see praise of a Track Pack. Usually people discredit those as not really a game. And I agree, RIP Rock Band Blitz.

Glad to see another take. I never had any issue with Green Day so that's surprising, and I didn't know there was a strum limit for guitar. I wouldn't necessarily say I was praising track packs, more just saying that they exist and did what they intended to do. And yes. RIP Blitz.

@@Gheeotine Oh yeah, Rock Band 1 and 2 engines are essentially in the Guitar Hero 2 engine, tight to hit but with the strum limit. Songs like East Jesus Nowhere or the Live Version of Let There Be Rock are impossible to FC on the Rock Band 2 engine. Also I guess praise wasn't the right word to use, maybe standard acknowledgment lol. And could you believe the engine on Lego Rock Band is somehow worse with broken HOPO Chords? Crazy.

​@AlexMartinez-de9th I think you're missing the point. I'm rating the games and I even acknowledge the history of the band and their credit to music. With the "artist with an ego" line, it was a metaphor for the licensing nonsense that caused the soundtrack for the game to not allow for transfers to other games, meaning that, unless you still maintain the original hardware and made purchases back in the day, The Beatles Rock Band is now an extinct game. It was an anti-consumer choice in a franchise that was actually fairly generous with its policies up until that entry, so of course points are getting docked. Otherwise, the rating is a matter of subjective tastes. As a band, the Beatles are fine. As a game, I stand by all that I said.

Rockband 4 above rockband 3, greenday above beatles, rockband 3 scoring less for bringing more options even if that includes things such as the keyboard and blitz being number 2 because you can't get it definitely killed me inside The beatles rockband only has the problem of no backwards compatibility and limited selection of songs. I don't mind it being a self contained experience. It's also the only band centric game to actually manage to the band centric thematic well.
