Cyberpunk is actually really good now that they have fixed alot of the bugs but there still is alot that needs fixing but I am able to play it on ps4 now without huge problems so I would say since I have already beaten the game that it's a damn good game it just has alot of minor bugs alot that are really funny. I think it deserves a place within the top 10 games of 2020 that had a terrible launch.

No cop AI, no car chases, shitty combat AI that either just bumrushes you or sits behind a wall until you find them, etc. And CDPR will have to work really hard to rebuild their reputation.

@@Nyghtrid3r I do agree those things do need fixing, but it doesn't really bother me at the moment, because I can still play the game and enjoy the story. I also haven't had any problems with the AI that much in my playthrough so I couldn't actually say. In my playthrough everything went fine with the combat. I say that, because I had them throw grenades at me and stay behind cover. I even had them try searching for me when I hid from them. I had some that stayed in cover and faught tactically, while some rushed in. Some even tried hacking me; so I can't say there is a issue with the combat, as it seems perfectly fine to me. Also I had a mission with something to do with some data at a bus depo, and you had to kill some guy, and they were Valentino's. Let's just say I wasn't a high enough level for that mission, and they fucked me up pretty bad. I had to resort to running, but they just kept running after me no matter how far I went. That's not to mention they did alot of fucking damage so much so that I had to literally keep my distance and shoot them with a sniper rifle (one that I had previously found somewhere, that had a fuck ton of damage). I had to shoot them in the head, and keep moving while trying to stay behind cover the best I could; so I could kill them without dying. When I collected their weapons; they were like for level 30 and up, but i was like level 15, or something like that. They were relentless, and wouldn't stop chasing after me so I would say everything combat wise is perfectly fine. With that being said I can confirm that they will chase after you on foot. However, yeah they don't follow you in cars which I'm grateful for, because it would be a major annoyance trying to get away from them. I say this, because you can't shoot, and drive apparently, or at the very least I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I think the main reason they don't have enemies follow you in vehicles is, because they would probably wander off, and cause problems for people who are trying to clear an area of enemies, or it would just be a major annoyance. I also have noticed the cops won't pursue you in vehicles, but I think that's because you need to have a high wanted level. I can't confirm this about the high wanted level though, because I haven't really tried to get a high wanted level; due to me trying to avoid killing civilians and cops. The highest I think I ever got was two stars, because I had mistaken two hazmat wearing "beat cops" as millitech soldiers, and I had killed them with the mantis blades before I realized they were cops. This could also be due to the story, as the cops are said to be understaffed and probably don't want to waste thier time on something small; which I think is why they wont pursue you for long if you have low wanted level. However, If this isn't intentional behavior then yeah I agree they should really fix it.

I might be biased as one of the backers, but Hellpoint was made by a 7-person studio and Kickstarted for only $64500. I think SOME of the criticism is unwarranted given the limited scope of development. The game is fine if you don't mind a little jank and like the Event Horizon-esque sci-fi horror aesthetic.

Frankly, I presume that the abuse and harassment Jim receives as a result of covering trash games that nobody has ever heard of to just not really be worth it. For years now, Steam's algorithms have been robust enough to not show any of this soulless garbage to anyone that doesn't already purchase and interact with the soulless garbage. So, frankly, it doesn't really even matter if there's garbage being put up for sale on the platform if nobody ever sees the garbage in the first place. In fact, I could argue that in some ways, it's better to do this than to have...say, a system like GoG, where Opus Magnum was rejected despite the fact that Zachtronics is a proven and well known developer that has sold multiple, highly successful games on the platform .

I miss those videos as well but he's given up on Steam and that's his choice. The good news is that this fight is basically over anyway. Steam finally filtered the store so that all the shovelware no longer shows up unless you directly search for the games or have a history of buying that kind of trash. So yes while they are still technically "on" the store... 99% of users will never see them.

What makes Deadly Premonition 2 really disappointing is it comes on the back of not one, but two massive successes for Swery. The original Deadly Premonition and another game... The game that tells a moving story about trans people and the issues we face. About finding self acceptance and love. That is really good in its symbolic imagery. That's good because Swery listened to trans people while it was being made. That game is J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories. Then Deadly Premonition 2 comes along, fucks up all that good will from the LGBTQ+ community and then is racist *AND* literally physically painful to play on top of that. I don't think they intentionally "villainized" BLM, you gotta keep mind that not EVERYONE associates the raised fist with them, especially not those overseas who aren't intimately familiar with the movement(and most of Ubisoft's studios are overseas) so I think it's more of a case of Hanlon's Razor of them simply not properly doing research and not thinking through the potential implications of the framing, still they definitely should've done more research, or better yet not made the game at all considering how lazy it is.

There is no defending the lies and the BS release with that lack of polish. But still... it can be a really fun game when you play in the right conditions. I've spent 90 hours playing it : the story is pretty great, the characters are cool, there's a lot of fun to have with the different builds, driving cars and bikes is enjoyable... The release was a shit-show, indeniably, but mark my words : in time, the bugs will be fixed, and all that will be left will be a really great game. CDPR will learn lessons from this debacle. As for the crunch culture thing, which video-game company doesn't do it? Did people already forgot the shitshow that was The Last of Us 2? Didn't that game came out in 2020, and had HUGE issues with its narrative structure? And it's not on this list? Ok, sure... ^^'

"You've already compromised your life in order to meet this deadline, and the game is broken regardless, so now you have to spend even more time fixing it because I paid for it and I say so". Doesn't strike me as being the best argument if the solution to games being broken is to extend the torment these devs are put through. Some of us are willing to meet the game half way and just accept it for what it is. I paid full price for it, did not request a refund, and I am legitimately having a great time playing it.

That Tom Clancy game looks practically IDENTICAL to a Marvel mobile game I played (to qualify for an offer somewhere else), from the art style to the UI to the 'gameplay'. Remember back in the 2000's when smartphone games looked like a promising future for gaming? Inexpensive and fun games you could play anywhere in short bursts that were vetted and compiled in a central app store? It is absolutely heinous that a lot of peoples first introduction to video games are going to be either this game or one of it's many thematically veiled clones.

It really is a shame that mobile has such a bad rap. With advances in phone technology, both with processing power and control capability, there's some genuinely good stuff. Not enough to obsolete the Switch, but plenty of simpler action titles and slower-paced adventures/VNs (even if most are ports of older stuff) good for, as you said, playing in bursts.
