Mussoorie has experienced a warmer summer this year like the rest of India and the temperature be just a bit less than the plains during the day but the evenings will be pleasant. If you are going with your friends, you will have a great time at Kempty Falls. If you don't like much crowd, you can explore the upper section of the waterfall which is very less crowded. The 16 km route to Kempty fall is beautiful so I would suggest you to give it a go.

Thankfully, 19-20 weekend nahi hai. Har din evening me 1 se dedh ghante ka jam toh lag hi jaata hai. Aap kisi tarah subah subah Mussoorie panhochenge toh jam nahi milega par din me nikal ke do peher ya shaam ko panhochna chahte hain toh jam milega aapko.

The weather is not cold at all. It's pleasant at night. The temperature would be just about 2-3 degrees celcius less than the plains. So warm cloths won't be required for adults at all. For the kids, you can carry some because they may feel a bit cold if the weather gets cloudy and windy and also the ability to withstand cold is different for all.

Hi. The weather now wouldn't be cold at all, and the nights will be pleasant. The temperature in Mussoorie will be only 2-3 degrees Celsius lower than the plains, so warm clothes won't be necessary for adults. However, for the kids, it’s a good idea to carry some, as they may feel cold if the weather gets a bit cloudy and windy. Also, everyone’s ability to withstand cold is different, so it's better to carry just a pair or two of warm clothes for the kids.

Direct buses aren't available between Mussoorie and Delhi. You have to take a bus to Dehradun and then another one to Delhi.

Yes this is the oldest hotel and one of the best hotels of Mussorie. We used to stay there when we were children. Mussorie was our second home in summers. We used to book. cottage or house there for two months. There was one green cottage on the mall,and mount rose on the camel back road where we used to stay. Hope their are still there.At that Time Mussorie was not congested at all. Now it has changed a lot.

You won't face any issue finding a taxi wherever you stay in and around mussoorie. There is a forecast of rain in the second week so it'll be better to be prepared.

Actually, I stayed at a hotel near Mall Road, Mussoorie, that cost me Rs. 1500 per day. As I was traveling solo, it was a good deal since other hotels were charging much more. The name of the hotel was Ganapati Hotel. However, hotel rates have decreased now, and you can find some good hostels like Hosteller or Zostel, or some good hotels that cost below Rs. 2000 per day.

Bas Dehradun - Mussoorie ka bataun toh, Dehradun se Rs. 80 bus ka, hotel ka Rs. 2600 (2 din ka), scooty ka Rs. 1200 (2 din ka), Khaane peene ka Rs. 2000 (2 din ka), Misc. expenses Rs. 1000 maan lijiye aur Dehradun wapas sharing taxi se jaate hain toh Rs. 350 per head toh total kharcha ek solo traveller ke liye Rs. 7250 aprox. hai. Par aap isme bhi kam kar sakte hain jaise ki scooty aap Rs. 500 me bhi le sakte hain bargaining me acche hain toh, agar hostel lete hain toh aapka Rs. 1000 me 2 din stay ho sakta hai, phir khaane ke preferences hain jo aapko bahot save karne ke mauke milenge.

Going by the news channels, the situation is not at all suitable to visit the mountains. I wouldn't recommend visiting any hill stations in Uttarakhand and Himachal right now. I just found an article that says there was a landslide on the Dehradun-Mussoorie road last week. Tourist places in the plains should be preferred now.

Just be prepared and keep a day or two extra in case it rains, as it's quite likely to do so. When it comes to safety, it won't be as risky as any other hill stations in Uttarakhand and Himachal in July.

July aur August actually kisi bhi hill station jaane ka sahi time nahi hai par Mussoorie thoda sa safer rehta hai baaki hill stations se. Ek do din extra rakhein in case koi din waste ho jaye baarish ki wajah se toh aur stay safe. Aapko kaafi jyada greenery dekhne ko milegi aur hotels saste me mil jayenge.

July actually rainy season hota hai toh ek hi issue jo ho sakta hai woh hai baarish nahi toh temperature bahot accha rahega. Aap ek do din extra rakhenge toh accha hoga. Aap apne gaadi se ja rahe hain aur aapko shanti pasand hai toh aap Mussoorie se bahar reh sakte hain nahi toh Mall road ke paas rahiye agar aap taxi ya bus se aate hain aur sightseeing ke liye bhi taxi ka use karne wale hain toh.

In the evening, there is a traffic jam between Dehradun and Mussoorie that lasts for about 1-1.5 hours every day, and it gets worse during weekends. If you can manage to reach Mussoorie in the early morning, you won't face any traffic. However, if you plan to arrive in the afternoon or evening, you may encounter a jam.

Yes, definitely. Whenever I have used the ropeway service, I haven't faced any issues at all. On the day I visited Mata Surkanda Devi Temple, it was very windy, which is why the service was stopped for an hour or so. When it resumed, it was still very windy, and that's why I mentioned it as scary. Otherwise, the staff made sure that all security measures were taken for our safety.

It's totally safe to travel by car, and it’s actually more fun than traveling by bus. The temperature is going to be really good next week, but there are chances of rain according to the forecast. So, keeping an extra day or two in your schedule would be advisable.

Actually Christmas ke baad se hi snowfall start ho jaata hai Himachal aur Uttarakhand ke hill stations me.. Aur Mussoorie ka bhi yahi case hai. Par snowfall weather ke upar depend karta hai aur achaanak se ho sakta hai. Par haan 28 December ke baad aap bilkul expect kar sakte hain snowfall.

Bauhat hi bakwas jagah hai mussoorie kuch bhee nahi hai mussoorie is one of the worst hill station. The place do not have any attractive spot. . The place is very costly. Fooding and lodging is very difficult and costly. There is no public transport in town, only cabs are available which is very expensive. It is not worth visiting the place.😃

@@mr.freebird Mussoorie losing its charm due to increasing population and tourism, this is leading to increase in garbage production, traffic problems, pollution and what not. though there are still the sightseeing places like lal tibba, cloud end, gun hill and the very famous mall road. but the local people are continuously increasing fares for parking and small eatables. last time I went there in march and parking fee at cloud end was 100 bucks for half an hour which used to be not more than 20 bucks for an hour. slowly and steadily this hill station is turning into a town, what mussorie used to be 10 years ago is today's dhanaulti which is a small hill station an hour away from mussorie. another major problem in mussorie is the parking problem in main mussorie. there is no space and cars need to be parked far away from the hotels. I would suggest not to stay in main mussorie and take a room on the outskirts, 2-3 kms from mussorie. 4-5 hours are enough for the queen of hills nowadays. I hope the government takes needful steps to ensure mussorie stops losing its charm.😢

I can't agree more with you. All the reasons you mentioned are why more people are heading towards offbeat destinations nowadays. Our hill stations were not ready for the crowd that they are getting in the last 5-6 years. I think people can make a big change by choosing new and unexplored destinations. This way, the traffic will be less at the most popular tourist spots, and the total crowd will be more evenly distributed.

@@mr.freebird The roads were all in a bad shape. Mall Road was mostly closed and unfortunately our hotel was on the Mall Road. Going to visit anyplace would take hours. The roads were chocked with vehicles parked over the place, roads dug up and full of people. It was scary driving the car. The administration needs better planning and control of traffic. Hope things improve .Should not be called as queen of hills.
