Thanks for sharing the video. Someone commented that you are imposing and controlling your daughter just because you visited her in Qingdao. I guess he/she is not a parent, and assume that your daughter felt imposed by your visit. You are right, every right-minded parent would want to spend time with their children. I am sure your daughter was very happy to have her parents visiting her in Qingdao too. Both my son and daughter are back in Melbourne. While studying overseas, they were always excited when my wife and I visit them.

We really enjoy China and have loved our time there on two occasions. This video was filmed in September and we are about to return to China in 9 days time. All countries have their own ways and China is no different.

​@@Wyldfamilytravel There isn't much to do in winter, maybe you can take a dip in the hot springs at Laoshan Hot Spring Resort, or take the high-speed train to the nearby city of Yantai, which has a ferry to northeastern China

it was a little lost on us as we are not big seafood fans, but there were people everywhere eating it!. We loved Qingdao such an amazing city , we are actually going back in 10 days time

Favorite tour spots zre often crowded and noisy, I've been to nuuerous western cities . The situations are the same.,Why do may westerners complain about noises? Chinese aren't dumb. They',do talk.

I did not ever refer to anyone as dumb, in my particular situation I live in a town with a population of only 5,000 people so sometimes large crowds can be overwhelming and that not just in China I also feel the same when visiting Melbourne

You will not find many interantional tourists in Qingdao but its is very popular with domestic Chinese tourist/

It's best to come in spring or summer! The beach is why most people come to qingdao!

Quite weird to impose on your child’s boss. Feels a little too controlling or imposing. I don’t know anywhere else where that’s normal and you bring your mom and dad to work, especially in a different country. Even though they might be nice about feels a lot like helicopter parenting to me.

Hay Jared thanks for taking the time to respond. Our daughter was actually on a week off, so we did not impose on her work time. I am not sure if you have kids or not, but if you were not concerned about your 18-year-old daughter moving to a foreign country and living with people you have never met then that would be strange?

@ there’s a lot of Australians in my state here in the US who come for school, work and au pair jobs, I’ve yet to hear of their parents coming to check on them. It would be kind of suffocating. But I get it, safety and what not.

Hi! I'm the daughter, my host family is very welcoming, thry actually encouraged my family to come see me and have come to see my family as an extended part of their own family. It might he different for other families but for mine they are very happy to see parts of my life. Even encouraging me to invite my friends to come stay with me in china at their home
