Yes Richmond is known for the Cannery, we used to have the largest fishing fleet on the west coast of N.America a hundred years ago.

You might want to double check your research here, as not only are Steveston and the fishing industry what Richmond are known for, but they are in fact the staple of Richmond’s history and why such a large Asian population settled in Richmond..

Love that you made a video showcasing this beautiful city. Your content just keep improving, keep it up! I also just made a new Vancouver travel guide showing the best secret spots to check out in Vancouver. One of them gives you the absolute best lookout point in the city.

I'm originally from Vancouver, so it damages my, "hometown pride," to say this, but Richmond is better now. I love Richmond more than any other place on Earth.
@GoingAwesomePlaces3 жыл бұрын
Whoa I’m surprised to hear that because I love Vancouver as well. What’s changed??
@Maplecook3 жыл бұрын
@@GoingAwesomePlaces In the 70s and 80s, Vancouver had a much better traffic, crime, and living standards situation. My parents were able to buy a single family house with a front & back yards, and 2 bedrooms, for $45,000. My parents both did not have university educations, and just worked regular blue collar jobs. In 1980, they upgraded to a brand new, 5 bedroom house, with a two car garage, for $99,000. They had to work their asses off, but they were still able. In 1988, our family added two brand new Hondas to that. Tell me that a working man can do that in Vancouver nowadays. This is just the tip of the iceberg, too. You don't want me to go into detail on how Vancouver now, is inferior to its past self. Again, as a born and raised Vancouverite, I hate to admit that my hometown has gone downhill. Richmond is much more like my old neighbourhood was, and that is why I prefer it now.

I came from a 3rd world country in the Middle East. I thought Canada is a developed and first-world country like European countries, the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, News Land, and Singapore with the western standard, and also I thought is one of the best. The first time 2018 I arrived in Vancouver, I was shocked. I saw a lot of homelessness, trash, crime, ugly urbanism, and rusty houses in downtown and east Vancouver. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022I decided to move to the east coast because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception.
