This may be a dumb question to hikers lol but how do you know where to go I always see just one sign pointing left or right but are there signs up until you reach the top ? I’ve never hiked in my life

Either google maps or a provided map.

There are some poles to indicate the direction of the trails. Usually to hike you need comfortable hiking shoes and a camel bag for your water. You can request brochures for all the sites once you get in Sedona It is an amazing place. I had never visited but plan to do it. Research about specific trails of your liking. Have fun!
@johnnyluna46552 жыл бұрын
You poor thing. Hiking is great. Hope you get a chance to hike. Apps like all trails are really helpful. These you tube videos too. I recommend Brims mesa from the Jordan connector. It's really sweet. One mile of incline from the beginning and then it flattens out for a good distance. Bring a camera and a sandwich 🥪
@wwtrkr3189 Жыл бұрын
Just keep going up. When you run out of land and all that's left is sky, that's the top. 🤷 But seriously, if you're climbing a feature like a mountain, there's usually only one trail to follow. Once you become more experienced and head for bigger stuff then route finding becomes a skill you'll add to your set. There are many apps linked to GPS these days. Use them in conjunction with on-line forums to find something you're comfortable with to begin. Denali will have to wait for a week or two. Stick to the popular routes in the area. Most of them are popular for good reasons. Guide books and trail web sites will rate the difficulty level.

Thanks so much for this great You Tube. I agree with you on the ones I have visited but got some great ideas on new places for our trip back. I went on another jeep tour while others in my family took the pink jeep because I have a bad back and couldn't handle some of the rough ride that PJT takes. I loved the company I used (it was a while back and don't remember the company) and loved going on the petroglyph tour. Our Hot Air Balloon ride was fabulous! Gentle , not crazy (and I'm afraid of heights), champagne when you touch down.

U Missed quite a few great things 1. The vortexes, 2. Coffee Pot Rock and the soldiers pass trail with the pools 3. The night sky views an so much more. But good job as a start PS please don’t refer the the Chapel as infamous. It famous or amazing, no negative at all
@jocelynbuckner79082 жыл бұрын
The more correct plural of vortex is vortices. it's how we locals can spot the newbies - they use incorrect words for the scientifically proven areas. Missed: the Stupa, the caves at Coffee Pot, birthing cave on Long Canyon trail, the Crack. The Chapel of the Holy Cross is no longer used as a church but you can light candles and meditate in the chapel. It was built by pharmaceutical scion Maguerite Brunswig Staude and Frank Lloyd Wright Jr. There is a vortex here and the views are amazing.
