I've kept a consistant 4k streak with this mind: Voters skim through entries. They tend to pick images that they can understand *and* match the theme the moment they look at it. If it's unclear or confusing at first glance, they're more likely to skip it.

Amen. I've found much more consistent success doing this exact thing. The Discord would drag me if they saw my 4k entry as compared to some of these stunning tableaus that clearly took hours. It's not bad by any means, but mostly it just is symmetrical and clear and overall pleasant to view as a thumbnail. Bonus is, if I don't get 2500+, I am not as frustrated/disappointed

I also skip photos that don’t really try, I think it was a mystical theme with Merlin’s a bit ago and everyone just put their characters in his house lol and to me those were boring

@@CalamityCannon Aw, nobody should drag you for being successful. It takes some trial and error to recognize DreamSnaps voting patterns; learn from your scores both low and high.

I think a lot of people forget only top 7.5% of submissions get 4k and the competition is getting harder as more people get better so I don't think people are "robbed" it's just there are so many good submissions

Personally I don't think Dreamsnaps are broken because people aren't getting moonstones they think they deserve. I think people forget that while their submission might be great to them, others might not think the same when it's paired with someone else. There's thousands of players submitting Dreamsnaps, getting something like 2.5k is the top 20% of people. Personally, I don't often vote for photos that are too busy with bright lights in the foreground or not, I also don't vote for aerial shots if I don't think it makes sense for the theme. I know there are likely some folks that are the same. I notice often that people sometimes forget the theme when voting too and just try to make a photo that looks nice instead of a photo that fits the theme.

Well said! It is really easy to go overboard with those foreground lights and mist so that it obscures the image. It worked super well for villain and spooky themes but doesn't always. And some of it is unrealistic expectations or going too high concept, forgetting that people are just skimming past a thumbnail. Symmetry is your friend too, in my experience. But back to expectations, honestly, anything over 2500 is a very good result. The one in this group (of great submissions, ofc) that was a surprise to me was the royal dude with his fox in front of the castle getting 1500 (hard to know without seeing tags). Visually clear, clean, Mickey cloud, on theme. But maybe that's just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I made my first 2.5k with the royal celebration and it was an overhead shot, I was personally so happy with the results because I was like eh it probably won’t get that much and I was shocked. Sometimes the ones that go too hard are too distracting for me and sometimes I like the chill ones, I don’t think you have to fill the image to get a good score. I think people just need to understand their submissions are just not it for everyone. Some of Serrohs I’m like ok that’s fine but again it was too much going on for me I think some people get a big head with their submissions and expect to get a good high moonstone but personally since I’ve found out about dreamsnaps and getting moonstones that way it kind of knocked gameloft down for me. Personally I don’t like games where it’s like buy this, buy this or you’ll miss out and never get this item again. I get it they need to get their money but it’s just ehhh to me as well

I also think that the super detailed ones, or the aerial shots sometimes get lost on small screens. I'm a switch player, and I can attest to how difficult it can be to see those small details.

It all depends on what the picture next to yours is. You can stress as much as you want all you can do is make your picture as good as you can then wait for the internet God's to choose

The reality is that only a small percentage of people can get 4K, to me that should be expected based on how dreamsnaps is designed, not a fault with it as it’s a competition.

In my experience, out of the box doesn't do well, especially if the reference is a little obscure. I know it can be upsetting when others don't get your vision. But what gets moonstones is pretty, bright, and obvious. That being said, I try to have fun with it.

NO ONE GOT ROBBED (except for a few)!!! Hear me out. Most of the submissions shown may have royalty but they miss the "celebration" part. what says celebration if you are sitting on the ground petting your fox? tags mean squat. i do minium tags and still get 4k while people use 200 tags and get 900. extra tags are a waste and dont count. besides another issue people have is having similar snaps. NO you dont need a mickey cloud. NO it doesnt need to be symmetrical. NO using the same companion as everyone else doesnt mean you win. everyones dreamsnaps are great but only like 3 or 4 had some sort of celebration. people have to understand the whole theme and not cherry pick 1 part of the theme. having a very gorgeous dreamsnap doesnt mean you gpt the theme. im sick of everyone say oh i got robbed because made the same dreamsnap as everyone else... DUH!! be different. do different. be a leader not a follower. i dont make the best dreamsnaps but then again im not spending a whole 2 or 3 days trying to get $10 worth of moonstones when i can get it done in 30 minutes and actually fullfil the theme and tags. im happy getting any moonstones. i dont say i got robbed when i didnt even fullfil the theme requirements. the key thing to remember is "does my dreamsnap fullfil the idea of the theme completely?"

I think people need to stop doing the ultra-complex ultra-symmetrical ultra-glowing outdoor submissions. They tend to look so boring and all they tell the voter is that you spent hours lining up two of each item across from each other. When those ones get "robbed" I think it was actually just from the photo being lame. Perfectly symmetry looks bad.

No one got robbed and dreamsnaps isn't broken, except for maybe the concept, in my opinion. There is a real entitlement to 4k moonstones lately amongst the DLV community it seems like. It's decor and outfit challenges. It seems like people treat each week as it is both. Sure, an outfit can fit with the decor but people over think it. I too have worked hard and have been disappointed in the past but maybe what I had wasn't what people were looking for that week when voting. I also think flooding the tags can also make everything seemed cluttered as well which hurts my brain when looking at things to vote for.

I completely agree. It also seems like people think each individual person is "graded" and everyone has a chance at 4k when it's a competition. Only a small percent of people will receive 4k. I look at this and most I can pick out reasons I wouldn't vote for them. Some (like the man with the fox) were well done, but that just means there were others that ranked better. I've also seen 4k where I don't understand why they ranked so high though.

This weeks subs with the snack bar, I was trying to take a selfie with Oswald then all of sudden 4 other characters decided to photo bomb, so Oswald is holding his head looking like a photo bomber and the other characters look so funny. So I submitted mine as that, it’s chaotic and I love it 😂

I pretty much always do my decor submissions indoors unless it really needs to be outside. I get way higher results on my indoor decor challenges than outdoor

Yeah often you can do well with indoor if you have great lighting so setting up a bunch of windows with the sun shining the right time of day makes a big difference. I got 4k on my royal celebration indoor submission ❤

I actually asked AmyB over in the discord to look at my ranked submission. She pointed out that it was more suited for a large screen than a smaller one. She roasted it but in a good way, lol. From now on, I'm using my phone to look at an image when its tiny to see how it looks. Thanks for taking a look at mine in the robberies! I hope next Wednesday some of the robbed players have a good ranks!

Great advice on these submissions, Serroh. I think with the update voting gets out of whack when you are force to vote, because it is a requirement in a star path> People are most likely to vote for the first 10 submissions they run across, rather than actually scan through the submissions for the best ones. Also when I vote it seems they start off with the basic submissions out of the gate. I have to go through dozens and dozens of submissions to get to the ones that shows more effort, time, and thought into creating them. When results comes back, I'm surprised that some submission ranked as high as they did and some rankings should have been more. I think maybe they have nerfed tags a bit too, when more were sending in ultra high tags, since this could have broken calculating results. Everything else is broke, why not. lol

Do people not realize that almost all these ones complaining about being robbed have their characters facing away from the camera?! People are not going to vote for the backs or sides of characters except in very rare circumstances. This includes the other characters in the picture! Also, this was royalty themed, if you don't dress like royalty, including a crown, no one is going to vote for it.

I think as time goes on, people are getting a LOT better at Dreamsnaps. I remember being blown away and thought I could never measure up when I first started, now I can make a top tier submission easy. Everyone is just too dang good, making that top 7.5% is a bit harder.

Voting has been broken for a long long time. I'm on playstation and every week when voting I'll see pictures that are clearly from a villagers quest. For example, this week I've been seeing Sulleys monster movie night and villager of the month mixed in with submissions.

I submitted Mike’s final quest photo a few weeks ago for the monstersona theme. I was over dreamsnaps cuz the previous week I had done a bunch of hard work and I only got 600 moonstones. It fit the theme and I didn’t really have to do much for it. I ended getting 4k for the monstersona week. I was surprised that it got that much with how little effort I put into it. I was wearing my Roz CDA outfit so my outfit was on theme along with the the fact I had monsters with me in the picture so it wasn’t completely out of left field…

Personally i don’t think Dreamsnaps is “broken”, i think people are on the hunt to vote for the most extravagant submissions rather than a submission that’s on theme regardless if it’s extravagant or not. I do feel like you advertise the nicer submissions over the “typical submissions”which then makes players feel defeated when they don’t do as well. These Grand submissions have become the token submission to gain votes which I personally disagree with.

Because nowadays if your submission is highly decorated, they automatically think it’s going to rank high. Point blank period. Now just cause they didn’t rank the way they expected to, Dreamsnaps is now considered broken? Yet if someone who didn’t have a “Top Tier” submission, then the voting is not considered broken? Come on Laurette, use your head.

@@Laurette148 It would be nice to showcase EVERY PLAYER on the team, whether they’re a good or bad player and whether if they scored a goal or not. If you see some players aren’t doing well, help them out with tips and tricks. Don’t just showcase the best players and say “because they didn’t get a better score, the game is considered broken”.

You said what's been on my mine, how it seems you have these super cool unique submissions or on the nose submissions, but they always do poorly compared to the cute/pretty ones everytime and it's a shame. Like I see the princess dress sitting down in front of some scenery get consistent 4k every time, vs someone actually trying to make a royal CELEBRATION picture. Pretty/Cute is just it (not that those aren't nice some are outstanding), but I wish people would branch out with votes.

I know I don't care for the desert area as it's not cozy feeling to me. Not enough greenery. I didn't know about people not liking the filters. I did a filter this week and I also could NOT get my food to stay on the tables so I'll probably blow my streak. I was OVER trying to get it done. I put that food on that table so many times , went invisible, went into a house resetting it back to visible and it would be fine until I got into camera mode. Invisible AGAIN. I was at my wits end. There used to be an old country song called Take This Job and Shove It. I literally caught myself singing... take this game and shove it- I ain't playing here no more. That's when you know a game is at high frustration levels with bugs when it begins to turn you into an old country singer. 🤣

I’m having problems with the cupcakes. Each character ask me for cupcake and I get the cupcakes and give them out and they don’t register that I did the cupcake quest. Plus the quest don’t show up in the quest section. Wondering anyone else having these problems.

I used to get 4000 moonstones consistently and now since the last two updates, I barely get 1500. I’m consistent in what I put out there and it’s very appealing but for some reason the moonstones just don’t get generated. I’m really getting to be disgusted with this whole set up. There’s no rhyme or reason no matter what the other comment say.

I consistently got 4K on Switch, but when I gave up on that system and started playing on PS5 I've been riding the struggle bus. I consider it a great success if I get over 1K. I dunno 🤷‍♀

I did a different take for the in bloom challenge and did a desert theme and still got 4k so I don’t know if the desert doesn’t necessarily do well. I saw a couple other people do more deserty themes that did well too. However this week I did a more traditionally on theme snap and I had a high score and even higher than several others that I saw, yet I had a lower rank and lower amount of moonstones so I am confused about how the ranking works along with the score. I didn’t say I was “robbed” I was more neutral cuz I did get 2,500 for it but who am I kidding? I would have loved 4k. I do think my snap was maybe too dark. My forest tends to be really shadowy so it was hard to nail the lighting.

Dream snaps is broken because I was consistently getting 4K and now I barely cracked 1500 with the same type of detail to the motif needed. I’m disgusted with it so much that I’ve decided. I really don’t need to do it anymore. It’s boring and it is broken.

Same. I had been consistently getting 4k and suddenly I’m struggling and to get anything consistent. The last couple months I’ve gotten 1,200, 1,500, 600, and then 2,500. I had like 2 4k submissions in there. I haven’t changed my way of doing things at all.
