Cheers Rich, Some great tips in there and it was great to see the difference with the exposure compensation from correct and then +1 and +2 Stops! What a difference it makes. Also some good tips on the survival side of things. I'd love to hear more about that in a future video. Thanks again, glad I joined the members area now as that was really useful. Also nice to see the DSLR!! regards Roger

Great tips Richard. One thing you might mention with the use of a lens hood is that they can introduce a form of heat haze when first bringing your camera out into the cold environment from a warm environment. Its best to remove it until the lens and hood adapt to the cold to avoid the problem. Stay warm and safe!

Excellent and shared. Rich, I'd like to know how to photograph snow coming down upon the landscape. Are there rules to follow and what settings work best for producing pretty snow falling. Thanks so much.

What I always do is when I come back in from the cold, I set my camera down on a side counter and lay a hand towel over the whole thing so it makes a tent...leave it like that for an hour🤷♂️

Top Drawer I Suppose mine would be .. 1 Buy a genuine waterproof jacket with quality well underlining made for cold climate . 2 waterproof trousers ..they are a godsend !! 3 Always check the weather before leaving .. and have good weather app on your phone 4 Learn to use the map app on the phone and have good Geography skills . 5 Know how to read the weather ie look at the sky for changes again that comes with experience known what you looking at 6 have at least 2 portable phone chargers 7 Know what black ice is !! It will save you from slipping and gear potentially damaged etc 8 If you are camping out in don't pitch in a exposed location / area prone to high winds etc . Like you see with some idiots on youtube who do it in there camping videos lolol . 9 People who are considering to drive to a location and it starts snowing . If there vehicle is a FWD . Don't bother because you'll be saved from the embarrassment of being seen wheel spinning lolol .As the vehicle struggles on slighest of gradients of a rd / hill

Thanks Colin, Some great tips there and it's always an exhaustible list as there is so much to cover and a lot quite basic and it is surprising how many people just don't bother and get caught out. Cheers hope you had a great Christmas and a even better NY. R👍
