Hi Harry. Could I ask you a question? I don't understand this sentence: "THIS METAL CONTAINER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE IN THE MICROWAVE."Why can't I write for " using" instead of use? Because it's a gerund. I appreciate you help!

Sir, Suitable for and Preferable, Do these two words convey the similar meaning? Please, enlighten me sir. Looking forward to your reply.
@LearnEnglishwithHarry
@LearnEnglishwithHarry 4 ай бұрын
Suitable for and preferable have similar meanings, but they are not exactly the same. Suitable for means something is appropriate or fits the requirements. Preferable means something is more desirable or preferred over other options. In simple terms, suitable for means it works well, while preferable means it is the better choice.

I beg to 💭 suggest….. you can “be a native” and still use what you would consider an incorrect preposition …..do we really need to be able to “ spot a non native “ ⁉️

It only means that non-native speakers are often unsure which preposition to use. It’s only a title
