I'm not at university yet (still in year 8) but at the moment I'm writing my second book which is set in a girls boarding school in the late 19th century. It's about bullying and self growth and just what I feel English boarding schools would have been like. It's loosely inspired by Anne of Green Gables by L.M.Montgomery and Erimentha Parker's To-do list by Ruby Granger and though I'm only 30 pages in I have found that it's so much fun! If anyone thinks that they want to be a writer just go for it and never let anything hold you back 🥰

the hardest part for me is not changing the plot a million and one times. and also i have an idea of how i want the words to look/feel but not getting too caught up in that is difficult and just getting the out is important.

Hey I published a book when I was 14. It’s name is ‘Travelling Alone’ but it is only available in India only. But now that I look back I feel I could have written better but my advice to anybody is just do it. Your mind does tell u that it isn’t too good or people will just laugh at it or whatever. But guess what it is going to be the most beautiful mistake u will make in life....

A tip for specificity writing a fiction book: So I often find myself pondering questions that come up in the story. and if you do too. Then I just have to tell you it’s your job to answer those questions. and they don’t have answers. so the answer can be whatever you want them to be.

I have created the most gorgeous character, and cannot wait to explore the world through her eyes! I am about to dive deep into writing, the possibilities are endless. I have been neglecting her recently and actually write little letters to my character to let her know that I am constantly thinking of her and planning her story. I've been active on Wattpad for almost a halve decade now, but struggle immensely with planning my work because I feel like I lose all the inspiration and love for the ideas I have while doing it. Hence, I mostly gave it up and write spontaneously one chapter after the other which worked surprisingly well for some time. However, I had a lot work to do finishing school this year and dealing with ups and downs regarding my mental health. In the process I somehow lost my connection to writing, although I try my best to journal every single day. Your video was a wonderful reminder to get back and write no matter the outcome. Better done than perfect (especially when perfect doesn’t exist!). I have to remind myself of this too, especially facing the same thing as you. I’ve also read that people who face writers block are just writers who aren’t allowing them self to experiment and write “badly”. BUT, without practice, how can we improve? I sometimes sit down for writing and end of 4 or 5 hours (because of overthinking about which words should I use) I just write 2 pages. Not always happening but this is the hardest thing I guess, expressing myself exactly how I want.

Honestly I find I get too caught up in research. The thing that has helped me most is using placeholders. If I haven't done the research I need to to write this section I just move on. It took me a long time to realise I had to do that though.

I'm trying to write a poetry book of all the poems I wrote throughout all those years and I'm quite scared that I won't find all the poems I've written because they're all scattered around on random pieces of paper, Word docs, cellphone notes... Ah, it's so frustrating! I'm only at at 1870 words BUT I think I want to include EVERYTHING (which is just daunting...), so I'll have to keep losing my nerves over it haha.
