It's a weird personalization, that I think is a result of the prolonged impact of, controversy over, and propaganda about his thought. He wrote some books. He inspired some people. He was also a real jerk. He had some interesting ideas that moved intellectual life forward. He also turned out to be wrong about a lot (as everyone is, eventually).
