So just a head's up the reason why Makoto's 100 Swords Execution isn't included on here is because it's from a doujin made by Orima and wasn't an official unused execution. I originally had it as #3 but took it out. If I make a list for the SDR2 ones then it'll be included in that list since all of those are entirely fan made. There's one thing that you missed about Togami's execution. The second part of his execution- with the snow and him dying of hypothermia- is meant to be cruel irony. His first name, Byakuya, means "white night" or "arctic night". In the execution, Togami would have ultimately succumbed to a death that was spelled out in his own name. I just love the thought that was put into his execution!

If *I* had to design executions for all the characters, this is what they would be: Sayaka: Ultimate Pop Start Idol, Sayaka, would get placed on a stage. She looks out into the audience to hear people cheering for her to sing. With a smile, she gladly starts singing. Then, out of nowhere, a chain gets wrapped around her neck. The crowd keeps cheering for her to keep singing. Sayaka sings. The chain tightens. The crowd goes back to cheering. She sings more. The chain tightens more. The crowd doesn’t stop cheering. She’s forced to keep singing. The chain tightens until she can’t breath. The crowd starts cheering for her to sing, but she can’t. The chain around her neck’s too tight. Slowly, the crowd starts to boo her. She tried to sing, but all that came out was a gasp. The crowd boos more. She keeps trying to sing, but she couldn’t. The whole crowd starts to boo her. She still can’t sing. Then, she’s forced to slowly suffocate as her adoring fans boo her last show she’ll ever preform in. Leon: Ultimate Baseball Star, Leon, gets put into a baseball field where he’s forced to play. His team was loosing. He keeps trying to bring his team’s score up, but he can’t. Then, his team looses the game. Filled with rage, Leon’s team charges at him, bats in hand. They start to hit him with the bats. He tries to escape the baseball field, but he can’t. He runs in circles around the field, trying to avoid his teammates, but they catch up to him and beat him with that bats. One of his teammates hits him hard in the skull, and Leon dies. Just as he collapsed onto the ground, an announcers voice came over the speakers. “Home Run!” Chihiro: Ultimate Programer, Chihiro, gets put inside a dark room. Suddenly, the room lights up. It seems to be the inside of a computer. He looks out the screen of the computer, only to see a video of him committing murder. He screams and backs up to the back of the computer. The wall shocks him. He tries to see if all the walls shock him. They did. Slowly, the walls start caving in. The only place in the computer that Chihiro can touch is the computer screen with the video of him committing murder. The walls keep closing in until he can barely move around anymore. Pushed against the the computer screen, he get electrocuted, then crushed by the walls, all while having to watch himself commit murder. Commit the murder that would have him executed. Mondo: Ultimate Biker Gang Leader, Mondo, gets strapped to his bike. The bike starts to move, but Mondo can’t stop it. It starts out slow, but gets faster as time progresses. It gets to the point where it’s going full speed. Mondo still can’t stop his bike. He then sees a wall up ahead. He tries to steer his bike. Nothing. He tries to stop it again. Nothing. He tries to break free off his bike. Nothing. Soon enough, the bike crashes into the wall at full speed, killing Mondo instantly. Taka: Ultimate Moral Compass, Taka, gets chained to a desk inside a classroom with a teacher and fellow students. The teacher was passing out report cards. Every student that the teacher passed a report card to always yelled out, “I got an A+!”. Taka got his report card last. On the paper, it said it big, red ink, “F”. One classmate quickly asked, “Hey, Taka? What’d you get on your report card? We all have an A+!”. Taka didn’t answer. He couldn’t answer. Suddenly, the same student who asked the question got up and grabbed the report card off his desk. Taka wanted to take it back, but he was chained to the desk and couldn’t move his arms. “An F!?” The student screamed. The whole class started laughing at his failure. Taka felt ashamed. Then, a door opened from under him, lowering him into a new room. The room was filled with what seemed to be teachers. “You failed” one of the teachers said. Just then, the same teacher impaled him with a ruler. He was then left to bleed to death in his own failure. Hifumi: Ultimate Fanfic Writer, Hifumi, was placed on top of a page of a giant comic book. The characters on the pages were all some he seemed to recognize. Suddenly, he felt something grab his foot. He looks down and something had come out of the page and grabbed him. And whatever, or whoever it was, was dragging him into the page. He looks at the page they were dragging him into, only to see the bottom covered in spikes. He tries to run away, but he’s overpowered as more people on the page grab him. He soon gets dragged inside the page, and gets impaled by the spikes. Celeste: Ultimate Gambler, Celeste, gets tied down on the floor below a giant slot machine. Monokuma jumps out of nowhere and lands on the lever, making the slot machine start up. The words “Jackpot!” showed on the screen. Suddenly, the slot machine starts to shake, and giant coins fall out, crushing Celeste. Sakura: Ultimate Martial Artist, Sakura, gets placed inside a very unstable looking dojo. She sees a stack of boards with a note that said “break em’ if ya wanna live!”. She did as the note said, and broke the boards. The dojo shook a little. Another stack of boards fell from above with another note. This one read, “You gotta try harder!”. She broke the new stack of boards with more force than the last stack she broke. The dojo shakes more. Another stack fell in front of her again. The note on this stack read, “This is the last stack. Give it all ya got!”. She broke the last stack with as much force as she was able to make. The dojo shook violently, and collapsed with her inside it. Alter Ego: Chihiro’s little creation, Alter Ego, gets placed on top of a desk with Monokuma sitting in the desk chair. He puts a USB drive into the computer. Alter Ego starts to glitch out. It goes to check what was in the USB, and it was viruses. As more viruses got downloaded into the system, the more Alter Ego glitched. Once all the viruses were in it’s system, Alter Ego couldn’t function, and had switched itself off. Monokuma then grabs the computer, and throws it in a fire. For a brief moment, Alter Ego was seen on the screen again, crying, right before the computer shut itself off, and never got turned back on. *~Survivors~* Toko: Ultimate Writing Prodigy, Toko, gets put on a stage with a podium. On the podium, there was a stack of papers. She realized it was on of the novels she had written. The crowd watching her on the stage cheers for her to read. She starts reading her novel to the crowd. Everyone loved it. Slowly, a giant book came up behind her. Once it got behind her, it slowly opened up. But Toko didn’t notice, and kept reading. Right when she muttered the words “The End”, a loud alarm sound went off and Toko spun around, only to see the giant book with the pages wide open. She was able to read just one sentence in the book. The sentence read, “He will never love you.”. Just as she read it, the book snapped shut, crushing her within its pages. She died realizing that Byakuya would never love her. Hina: Ultimate Swimmer Pro, Hina, gets tied up and put in a large tank of salt water while wearing a diving suit with an oxygen tank. She couldn’t untie the ropes, and she so she couldn’t swim back up to the top of the tank. But she was ok. She had an oxygen tank, so she would be ok for an hour or so. Just then, she sees something in the corner of her eye. It was a tiny fish. Hina smiled at the fish. More fish came up to her. She smiled a little more. Suddenly, the fish started to swim around her. She then heard a loud pop, and her diving suit started to fill with water. The fish had broken her oxygen tank. More fish came up and started eating away at her diving suit. As soon as the suit had been finished off, the little fish started eating away at her. The salt from the water stung her wounds. Nibble by nibble, she slowly died a painful death. Byakuya: Ultimate Affluent Progeny, Byakuya, gets placed in a cage. He looks around and notices that there’s someone in the cage with him. It’s Toko. Byakuya let’s out a sigh of relief, thinking it was her normal self. He was wrong. Toko starts laughing, only to reveal that it’s not Toko. It’s Genocide Jack. Byakuya yells as she leaps onto him and stabs in repeatedly with her scissors. Hiro: Ultimate Clairvoyant, Hiro, gets tied to the ground. The ground starts to shake, and he sees a giant crystal ball rolling towards him. He tries to untie the ropes, and he was able to free himself, but it was too late. By the time he had stood up, the giant crystal ball had caught up with him, and he was crushed. Kyoko: Ultimate Detective, Kyoko, gets placed in an empty room with only her and someone else in the room. Before she could even see who it was, a giant rock fell from the ceiling, crushing her. But she didn’t die from it. The rock had only crushed her legs, making her unable to move. Just then, she heard footsteps getting closer. She lifter her head to see who was walking towards her. It was Junko. Before Kyoko had time to ask any questions on why she was in the room with her, Junko pulled out a gun and held it to Kyoko’s head. “Bye-Bye, toots!” Junko said, mocking Monokuma. She then pulled the trigger, and Kyoko died instantly. Makoto: Ultimate Lucky Student/ Ultimate Hope, Makoto, is placed in a big, empty room with only him and someone else inside. The other person was Junko. They stood at opposite sides of the room. Suddenly, Junko charged at him with sword. Before Makoto even had time to react, Junko had stabbed him in the chest with the sword, proving that Makoto was never lucky to begin with, and that Despair will always overpower Hope. Oh yeah I agree. And the way he begged and saying "It was self defense" or "she could've attacked one of you" really makes me feel sorry for the guy. Sure, he could've just leave when he broke sayaka's wrist after she went to the bathroom, but still, I don't blame him. I honestly wish he either was murdered or survived. Plus Sayaka's execution is pretty disturbing and seeing naegi's reaction would be like a giant onion.

Honestly, Having Leon’s execution be the first was perfect for setting the tone Danganronpa was trying to set. A highly cartoony but very grim and despair enduring world. The lack of bright colors other that lean really help set the gritty tone of imminent death. Although this tone isn’t really played out through out the games and I would love to see more gritty Leon like executions, that is what the psycho pop style should have portrayed, highly anime and cute but dark and despairing art.

I think I lot of people forget that there was actually a time before Toko had a crush on Byakuya. Because let’s say that Toko happened to commit the first murder. If she were executed before she even developed feelings for Togami, then her execution wouldn’t make any sense.

I think Byakuya'a execution has a minor reference to Dante's Inferno, as in the ninth circle of Hell. I also noticed in Taka's execution there's a reference to John F. Kennedy, as in his assassination. I can understand why they decided against this one.

Personally, I feel Sakura's execution fits her talent and past really well as she was determined to become the Strongest HUMAN Alive. So fighting Aliens would waver that sort of mentality with the unknown, not only that but the being buried alive from the number of bodies she was producing through her fighting is sort of poetic in that no matter how hard she fought she ultimately led herself to her own demise through defeating all of these aliens causing the pressure to get to her and suffocate her. You could sort of view the aliens as the stepping stones of her life beating one after another but more and more just kept coming until she was suffocated by the pressure.

I love Sakura so much but nEver would I share Hagakure for anyone My favourite is by far Byakuya's, it's the darkest, creepiest shit ever and relates to his character so closely. Also I think the elementary school kids throwing stones thing is, sadly, just a thing that happens to Japanese homeless people. I'm not sure but it seems legit to me. After it comes Kiyotakas. It's haunting and powerful. As for number three, I'd say Aoi; I alwayd envision her eerily pounding her fists against the glass.

In all honesty I had a recent idea on how Celeste’s execution could’ve went- (Slightly inspired by Maizonos unused execution) The execution begins with Celeste / Taeko sitting in a chair in front of a gambling table. She is chained down to the chair to prevent escaping. Above her is a bar with a goal of $1,000,000, if she reaches it, she’d be able to survive. Across from her is Monobear, wearing a suit and a fedora. The game starts, Celestia in the lead. She continues to be in the lead with Monobear not far behind her. She finally reaches $999,999, being so close to survival. Monobear starts to catch up drastically, leaving Celestia unable to get the last dollar she needed. Finally, Monobear ends up winning. Giant dart like dispensers appear in front of her, and sharp knives the shape of cards, fly at her, killing her instantly. And for the final part, Monobear leaves with a briefcase of $1,000,000, which it is then revealed Monobear had secretly cheated. Despite Celestias high amount of luck, she was one step behind on her battle between life and death. Please note I have no knowledge on how gambling works so I apologize for something inaccurate. Also, despite this, I still love Celestias actual execution (I may be biased-) I just made this to show how the execution could’ve went

Sayaka Maizono (Sayaka is tied up on a pole and surrounded by darkness, she attempts to break free and eventually shadows start appearing and laughing at her, saying how “she’s pathetic, she’s nothing, she’s a murderer!” Eventually she breaks free but is so mentally drained and can’t take it anymore. A knife suddenly appears at her feet and she picks it up and slashes her throat to end the torment. A news report then comes on screen saying how Sayaka’s band has become more successful ever since finding a new member.) Leon Kuwata (Leon is placed in a batting practice area and must hit 3 scores in a net to win, but the catch is that he’s blindfolded. He strikes the first ball and hits it, the second one he hits it again, but on the third the ball ricochets off the side of the net and blows directly through his skull, killing him instantly. A buzzer then sounds indicating his loss.) Chihiro Fujisaki (Chihiro is transported inside of a computer generated program, his hands are handcuffed and tries to escape the program. He then gets ambushed by hundreds of binary codes and virus programs and is severely injured, he then spots an exit and attempts to run for it but then is impaled by a shut down program and dies of a heart attack. The computer then blue screens on the outside.) Mondo Owada (Mondo is strapped onto a bike that's on a 1000 ft cliff, the bike drives onto a 50 ft high circle and endlessly spins everywhere. Spikes then shoot out and stab Mondo until eventually the wheel breaks in half, plunging Mondo to his death) Hifumi Yamada (Hifumi is placed into a convention where everyone is requesting commissions from him, he helps one fan at first but then another fan asks for a commission and he helps them, eventually more & more fans keep coming up and asking for commissions. Hifumi starts getting extremely tired and scared, asking fans to please wait, eventually the fans start getting extremely hostile and eventually climb onto his stand and trample him to death. The fans then receive their unfinished and blood stained commissions and are finally satisfied.) Kiyotaka Ishimaru (Taka is tied up on a parade float that's going through the city, everyone is praising him for all his great deeds. Taka waves at the fans trying to hide his distress. Suddenly a rock is thrown at his head due to an angry fan, then another, and another, and another, and another. Soon hundreds of angry fans are mobbing the parade screaming how "he's a murderer and is pure evil!" eventually one of the rocks breaks him free and he books it down the road. the fans and parade give chase, eventually he is cornered and turns around only to be crushed flat by the parade floats. The fans then cheer on the parade as the blood covered float smears the road.) Celestia Ludenberg (Celeste is strapped onto a pole that's on a giant roulette wheel, then after Monokuma spins the wheel it electrifies Celeste, for a majority the wheel lands on nothing but finally the wheel lands on a money symbol and a giant coin drops down and crushes Celeste) Sakura Ogami (Sakura is placed inside a replica of her family Dojo and is forced to hoard off hundreds of other martial artists to survive, after defeating all the opponents Sakura sees Monokuma laughing and stating there's one more opponent. Sakura is confused but then Kenshiro appears and punches her directly in the eye and blinds her, Sakura is shocked but quickly brushes it off and rushes at him. He then grabs her and starts strangling her with his bare hands. Sakura attempts to break free but his grip is too strong, she then finally succumbs and dies.) Alter Ego (AE is placed in an empty server room surrounded by darkness, then Monokuma appears and downloads thousands of viruses into him, eventually when it doesn't work Monokuma moves AE's file into the trash bin and he gets deleted) SURVIVOR EXECUTIONS Aoi Asahina (Hina is placed in a giant school swimming pool with a bunch of Monokumas watching, Hina has to press a button on the other side of the pool to win, but no matter how hard she tries a chain pulls her back and she must come up for air. Eventually a Monokuma dressed as a lifeguard drops hundreds of dry ice in the pool and traps Hina under a thick layer of ice, she attempts to break free but is too sick from the water and cold. She eventually drowns to death and the crowd cheers the performance of the lifeguard instead of Hina.) Yasuhiro Hagakure (Hiro is strapped to a chair in an Arabian style fortune tent, Monokuma then appears dressed as a fortune teller and picks out 3 tarot cards for Hiro, the first card fortells him receiving "a shocking experience" and then he gets electrocuted. the second card fortells him receiving "a burning confession" then he gets burned by a tower of flame. The last card fortells him "being freed from a personal prison" then Monokuma pulls out a genie lamp and purple smoke shoots out and traps Hiro in a crystal ball. Monokuma then picks up the ball and smashes it on the ground, killing Hiro) Byakuya Togami (2 secret agents burst into the Togami family home with Byakuya In handcuffs, then he gets strapped onto a humiliation board and gets verbally abused by his family along with rocks thrown at his head, Eventually the agents release him from the board and onto a guillotine for his family to watch. Byakuya forcefully smiles and a tear rolls down his face as the guillotine activates and kills him, the family then buries his body in a wooden coffin and set it on fire and walk away.) Toko Fukawa (Toko is dropped onto a school play stage and is forced to act out one of her stories, it plays out normal until a part where skin cutting wires wrap around her hands & pull her upwards towards the rafters. Hundreds of knives then shoot out and slash her body, eventually the wires get cut and drop Toko down. Then Byakuya busts in attempting to search for her, then Toko falls onto the stage bleeding heavily and finally the stage turns into a book that closes around Toko's body and crushing her. The crowd gives a standing ovation as Byakuya is left shocked) Kyoko Kirigiri (Kyoko is trapped in a detective themed escape room as she's forced to solve progressively complex murder cases with mannequins that somehow always tie back into her family history, eventually she enters the final room where there's a chalk outline but no body and she must come with complete speculation of how it happened, she then wins and gets released into the darkness and then she sees her father standing in the distance. She runs after to get him but she suddenly is pulled back by an invisible force, finally she catches up to him and tries to grab him but her hand phases through him completely, Kyoko is shocked and before she knows it she's pulled back into the escape room by a chain around her neck. A curtain then lowers and gets raised to reveal Kyoko now in place on the chalk outline.) Makoto Naegi (Makoto is tied up and placed in front of a slot machine and must pull it to escape, Makoto pulls the lever and almost wins something but is one off, he then gets electrocuted by a shock device. Makoto pulls it again and is one off again and gets shocked, Makoto keeps pulling the lever and keeps getting electrocuted due to unlucky pulls. Finally Makoto hits a jackpot on the machine and is happy....until a trap door opens beneath him and he's dropped into a giant vat of acid, he dies before knowing what even hit him) This took forever X( Edit: Oh my god this is so cringe 😬 Edit 2: I've rewritten all the executions so I can finally look at them without cringing. (Also I took inspiration from Shuichi's unused execution and transported it into Kyoko's!)

Wait wait wait. I have the perfect Idea. The execution begins with a robot Toko rolling down the aisle to a Byakuya forced into a groom's suit and tied up. The real Toko is tied up to a chair in the front row, forced to watch this execution up close. The vows are quickly said, and Robo Toko leans in to kiss the groom. But just as Robo Toko and Byakuya kiss, Robo Toko sneezes, causing her to turn into a robo Genocide Jill. Jill takes out a pair of her scissors and stabs Byakuya in the chest, killing him slowly. Robo Jill takes the corpse to a wall, and pins the dead Byakuya up, writing blood lust to the side. It'd be painful karma for Byakuya, saying he set up the fake Genocide Jack scene with Mondo's murder, and the fact he's forced into a fake wedding with someone he had constantly rejected over and over.

I had an idea for Kyoko's execution, so I thought I might share. Since she is the ultimate detective, she would have to be facing a case. A murder case. She's sitting on a chair, and gets tied up, so she isn't able to move. As she's solving the case, the walls will start to cave in. As she writes down clues to figure out the culprit, the walls continue to cave in. She realizes this, and a bit of sweat drips down her face. She thinks she had solved the case, when Monokuma yells "WRONG!" Once he says that, the walls crush Kirigiri.

I just came up with another ending for Sayakas unused execution. ( Tell me what you think lol) Sayaka kept singing and eventually she had ALMOST gotten to the high score. Since she couldn’t see the score, she thought she had won. In excitement, she had stopped singing but then fully realizing the real number. She had looked terrified at herself and panicked not getting killed because she was feeling much despair, and then when she thought that maybe she survived, the bear trap sprung up and killed her in a painful but fast death.

Doesn't Naegi have an unused execution where he is dropped into a barrel and Monokuma stabs the barrel of spikes and they keep narrowly miss him. Then it goes out to Monokuma stop to look at the barrel and quickly close it to show that his luck has run out.

Hagakure is actually a very interesting character once you have facts,context and (if you wanna REALLY understand) Japanese culture and standards. Actually,with that knowledge,you feel sorry for Hiro. But I can understand why people don't like him as much since you don't get too much info in-game;people putting Hagakure low on their character favourite list is justified because of the game's lack of backstory for him,which has to be left for theorists to piece together. Nevertheless,Hiro still had good screen time and deserves more love.

I think the reason why they used aliens in sakura’s execution was because it was a wordplay of “alien-ated”. There reason why there was an army of aliens was because Sakura thought that there were multiple reasons as to why she was forced into alienation. With this in mind, the fact that the aliens kept on reappearing was because of her classmates’ reactions towards her being the traitor. Although she was fighting them off, symbolizing that she had a reason to keep on fighting ( one of them was being friends with the ultimate swimmer ), I think the reason why she died to the pressure of being buried alive, was because of being overburdened and pressured from being the traitor and being the one getting ostracized from. The guilt Sakura felt is better shown and explained when the ultimate swimmer confronts her classmates with the suicide letter after the class debate.

My favourite execution out of all of them was Leon's. It was just so brutal when seeing it for the first time. I expected something like Monokuma simply shooting them with a gun or something, but not this. I was so shocked, horrified and fascinated at the same time. I didn't really like everyone else's that much. Maybe it's because it wasn't that shocking anymore, but I felt like some executions were simply boring or not related to the character at all. For example Mondo's execution was kind of weird for me, just like Celeste's. Since she was the Ultimate Gambler, I expected something related to that, like her having to play a game with Monokuma that is impossible to win because Monokuma is openly cheating and she can't do anything about it, or something related to luck. But it was so random, she was just burned alive then ran over by a bus if I remember correctly, like?? I really don't understand why they chose that execution for her, I think it could've been so much better and more interesting. I'm watching a gameplay of the 2nd game right now so I'm excited for the new executions, but honestly I don't have high hopes.

I think celeste's was based off her acting as if she had an accent, changing her name, and wanting to live in a castle. Since the set made for her execution was a theater with castles and people wanting to kill her, I think it makes sense to be the setting. Plus acting is associated with theater plays too. Not too sure about the truck but it could be a reference?

Sayaka's execution reminds me of the game Idol Death Game TV. It looks like a great game, but I can not read or speak Japanese and sadly I don't think that it will be localized. IDGTV and Danganronpa have parallels and I highly recommend checking it out!

This is late, but i definitely could see that. I imagine Mondo screaming at Chihiro, on tears, while Chihiro is going to the execution, and when Chihiro dies, the camera will zoom into his face, showing a tear falling.

If I had an execution it would probably be something like I’m forced to spin over and over in a pirouette until my limbs fell off or if I drilled into the ground, I do ballet which is why I thought of this execution. But I would never have the stomach for murder.
