Two long time grails (for me) that I picked up in 2020 - Death Sentence - Not a Pretty Site -old school thrash, finally graduated from the 3rd gen dub tape to a real vinyl copy Tandoori Knights - Curry Up -every time I see a copy the price is higher, grabbed one before they go out of my price range I was faced with a first pressing of that 13th floor elevators a couple years back and it really tested my resolve on not paying crazy prices for one disc, especially a disc I have a repress of on my shelf.

I don't know if what I have is all that rare or not but I have a 1977 USA print of Lynyrd Skynyrd street survivors ,flame edition , what I think is different is it is an original copy and their weren't that many copies with flames , not only that but I understand the reissue are a single jacket sleeve cover , I have a gate fold with tour dates and other info and an additional sleeve with order forms for previous Skynyrd albums , naturally as soon as the accident happened they discontinued the original cover and wether it's worth anything or not ,I'm so proud to have it that I won't even put it on the turntable ,it's flawless and I want to keep it that way 🤘

Hi Dillion, you got me really intrigued with that J K & Co album that I did some digging - you may know this, but for the benefit of your viewers - His name is Jay Kaye, and is the son of the great singer/guitarist Mary Kaye, a Las Vegas entertainment pioneer of Hawaiian background (see youtube Mary Kaye Trio). Mary played the first Stratocaster to come out of the Fender shop in the 1950's - in recent years Fender has issued a Mary Kaye model Strat. Jay went to Mallorca (Spain) and became a fantastic blues guitarist (see youtube for lots of videos of the Jay Kaye Band). Mary passed in 2007 (she has a wiki page in which Jay and his LP are mentioned). Jay passed in 2015. His sister has posted comments on youtube as recently as 3 months ago. Cheers.

OK, Dylan, you've done me proud with your realignment of your favorite LP. TVZ can do no wrong, great LP! However.....have you ever listened to TVZ; Live at the Old Quarter, Houston, Texas ? Live, in a beer joint, 1977, nothing but the man and his guitar. I wish all his recordings focused on him, his guitar and an unholy amount of songwriting ability. Go ahead, give it a listen.....you won't be disappointed.

As a German, I still feel like I need to correct your German ;P. The correct spelling is closer to the American SHH (like „be quiet“) PERR (like Spanish „perros“) MYLL... can’t find an equal sound there... oh, and there’s a short break between Schperr and Müll. I have an 80s reprint of this on black Brain, too really got lucky with the green. Also, a funny story on the Fun House: I recently found an eBay seller with a first press who said that all first prints of FH have a „sickle shaped depression that is inaudible“. Now, I found a second press a while ago, lacking the golden Elektra label. Got it relatively cheap, checked it at home... and it had the exact same depression!! That leads me to think that for Fun House, the label actually made the same pressing over a variety of years. I think this is only an occasion with the German pressing, but check yours, would be interesting to see if the American has the same thing too.

Awesome and inspiratioal sensibilities, sir - and you have motivated me to get back into digging (90s,,,). But re Skip Spence, he played in 2 of the biggest Bay area bands: Moby Grape and J. Airplane, (guitar, drums, vocals - super talent) &, though he fell under the same bad star as Roky Erikson, re the times and the drugs, he died a family man. Just didn't want folks to think he was a nut who just happened to do an "outsider" record.
