Nah your wrong, the main line for emergency services is 999. however if you do dial 911 it will usually automatically forward you to the 999 emergency contact line. the number 101 is for non emergencies and 999 is for all emergencies. 112 is actually for disabled people to contact the police through text, so if they are deaf/mute they can still contact the police.

Funny Story Actually: So I’m a walker to my local public school. We had a substitute teacher one day, and she was new to ANY teaching job. I had forgotten my homework, and asked if I could run home to get it. SHE ACTUALLY LET ME! My mom was scared to her wits end when I appeared in the house five minutes after I had left, but she was cool about it and said nothing. I’m looking back on that, and realized that teacher could have been fired. Like, permanently, from any teaching job.

A similar thing happened to me also. We had a sub that was a TA from a different school. And I had forgotten my neckstrap for my instrument, so I asked the teacher if I could run home and get it. I was only 5 blocks away so she let me go. However, I was grade 8 (freshman bc I live in canada) and encountered police that were arresting someone. AS I WAS WALKING PAST! I saw him being sat into he police car. So I passed through with small talk and got home where my mom thought I was a intruder and had a wooden spoon ready. I sprinted to my room and back being scolded. I ran back to my school the same way I came said hi to the police again. When I got back turns out I had missed an entire fire drill and we had a new sub. I never figured out what happened to her but I hope she’s doing well.

How is 4 out of 30 girls getting pregnant the teacher's fault?! Are they supposed to stay up all night and sit in the hall?! Your kids are 17...if their parents thought they were responsible enough to go on a week-long field trip, they should think them responsible enough to use protection.
@SafiullahMollick6 жыл бұрын
So, basically you're referring that the parents & the teachers should haven given those students condoms... not a bad idea
@nazarethprice1566 жыл бұрын
ha i agree do u think the boys and girls planned on haveing sex
@katiechisholm6 жыл бұрын
Nazareth Price it's different for boys and girls. When I was 16 or 17, I always knew there was a chance it could happen.. especially if I was staying the week with a group of guys or a guy I was dating. However, *every* teenage boy hopes for a chance to get lucky, and because of that, most of them come prepared or have a way to get condoms.
@katiechisholm6 жыл бұрын
Safiullah Mollick no, I'm saying they're old enough to get their own protection. Again, it's not our jobs as parents and teachers to coddle young adults. They learned how to obtain protection in 9th grade health class, and if they want to have sex, they can walk into literally any gas station or grocery store and buy condoms. That being said, if I was a chaperone and a teenage couple came to me and asked if I had any condoms, it's safe for me to assume they're planning on having sex and I'd follow whatever protocol the district has in place for that kind of situation. (Because trust me, there's a district policy for *everything.*) My point here is this: the likelihood of a teenage couple telling their school chaperone that they're planning on having sex is very slim...especially if it's against school policy to engage in that behavior at a school event. And if the school doesn't think this group of kids can spend a week together without breaking rules, they would clearly assign a chaperone for each room. If there's only one chaperone for every 15 kids, it's not practical to expect that chaperone to monitor all 15 kids every minute of the day/night. Therefore, it's not the chaperone's fault.

Yeah the teacher who left 2 kids inside a classroom where there's other adults in the building is totally more irresponsible than the ones who didn't keep track of all the kids and one DIED
@aerieleah5336 жыл бұрын
Elora R ...she took them on an unauthorized trip and had them traveling with her in clearly illegal and unsafe ways. Imagine if she'd gotten into a car wreck. To top it off, she doesn't even try to watch the two extra kids. She just leaves them to sit in the classroom...or go wander off to God knows where. Just because it didn't result in tragedy doesn't mean she isn't probably the most irresponsible one on the list. I'll never down play the fact that a couple of these kids died, mostly drowning. I will say that one: they at least had permission and were at a school sanctioned event. Two: it's terrible to say but it is easy to lose track of a big group of people. I doubt very much that any teacher ever watches their kids so keenly that there isn't a moment where they look away or neglect one or more kids. These times it happened at the worst moments possible. But what that woman and the one teacher who brought her class to a mountain did were extremely irresponsible.
@Septimus_ii6 жыл бұрын
It's the most obviously irresponsible, but I agree that the consequences were far lighter than the others

Nene Katrine I would be scared too. It was creepy being there especially seeing the crematorium and embalming room. My church group took us to a Forensics Lab too and for every summer girls camp we went to a notoriously haunted canyon where people were murdered some of it while we were there. My last trip I had the most terrifying experiences in my life one where I barely escaped with my life something pretty close to David Paulides Missing 411. I refuse to go to that canyon ever again it happened in Utah where I was born and raised I'm in Texas now. Then a summer teen program took us on a month long camping, repelling, and hiking trip across on of the major national parks in Utah so I have been on some fucked up camping and school trips when I was a teen.

Little missy Twisted You are right, but they could have checked if everybody is in their room at night or something. Or have activities outside the hotel.They should do more room checking
@rach_laze6 жыл бұрын
Wendy Darling but they can't really do room checks at random as such incase they're in the shower or getting changed for example we weren't allowed in each other's rooms on school trips but because the teacher had to knock before coming in it gave us chance to say "just getting changed" and hide whoever shouldn't be there the amount of time I ended up in airing cuboards and wardrobes because I was friends with boys and not girls on trips
@jasmineertha83516 жыл бұрын
When we went on long trips like that, the teachers had a curfew for us and they checked by seeing faces of everyone who was supposed to be in that room. If u were in the shower, the teacher came back around again. Once the room was checked, tape was placed on the doors so if someone tried to leave/enter after curfew the teachers would know because the tape would be broken. So there is something the teachers could have done

At the time, I thought it was fine, but now I am thinking it was a bit unfair that the boys got to leave the school and do something fun while the girls only did girly things. Not to mention the boys got to go out to eat at a diner while the girls had pizza.

I remember when all of the teens that were excellent in behaviour that year(me included) went on a trip but because there was an odd number, one of the teens had to bunk with the teacher. But because I knew non of the students, I said I would go with the teacher. But when I went to bed, I felt a presence near me, me thinking it was a dummy and one of the students pulling a prank on me for having to sleep in the same room as a teacher, i ignored it. But when I woke up that morning, I saw that the presence behind me was the TEACHER HIMSELF. I didn't want anyone to know so I moved myself to make sure the door was locked, but the teacher pulled me back down, then whispered in my ear that I was to not move unless I wanted a detention with him when we got back to school in 2 WEEKS. You guys might think I'm making this up but I'm not. I swear on my life that this is true. Anyway, back to what happened. FYI, I had a slight crush on this teacher but he was married and had kids. Therefore, I knew he wouldn't cheat on his wife, but I was wrong that when we got back from having dinner and get ready for bed, I had already changed since I was the first one out of the cafeteria so I was on my bed watching Netflix, that was until the teacher came in and placed his ass on my bed. Now me being me, I ignored it but then he moved me from where I was sat and placed me in between HIS LEGS. Like wtf. I tried to move out of his grip but he just held me tighter. I went back to watching what was on my phone but because I was ignoring him, he kissed my neck, making a FUCKING HICKEY. Luckily, I had brought a scarf and makeup, therefore I was able to cover up the hickey as much as possible. I pretended that I was tired so I told sir that I was tired so he left me to "sleep". But during the night, I felt a presence behind me again. I turned around, pretending to stir so he would leave me alone but he just stayed there. I can tell you know, I didn't like any of this but to play along, I started to "wake up" and make him think that he woke me up. I looked into his eyes which were darker than normal. Long story short, I was glad my mum made me take a birth control pill before I left. I woke up the next morning to find myself naked as-well as the teacher. I forgot about everything that happened that night but then it all came back to me so I got changed quickly and ran out. Little did I know, I woke up sir in the process and he followed me. I told him to back off because he did enough damage to me and I just wanted to stay away from him. But he didn't listen and walked closer. I reminded him that he was married and had kids that were waiting for him but did he care, of course not. Let's just say I didn't enjoy the rest of the trip. No one knew but then when we got back, I told my bestest friend and she said I was probably dreaming. But when I showed her the hickeys that rested on my neck, shoulder and arms, she believed me. Ever since then, I never went to school for months. My mum didn't know since she thought was at school but really, I was hiding in my hiding spot where I could just cry my eyes out. I had a feeling that the other teachers wouldn't notice my absence but then when I got enough courage to go back to school, everyone cheered for me, that's when I realised that the teacher that had basically raped me, was now in jail. Ever since then, I got a private lesson with the head teacher a.k.a my auntie. My friend and I became famous since she was the one who told my auntie about him. My life is now perfect

AmericanMan44 , Because it was simple to explain back in the 20th Century when everyone had rotary phone, just hit the final number three times, easy. Plus countrys need different numbers, it would be awkward calling 911 in England and someone picking up like "New York Police Department, what is your emergency?"
@deathslide86 жыл бұрын
Fun fact all emergency service numbers work all around the world, it just connects you to the nearest emergency service center. The English 999, American 911 and the European 112 work no matter where/what country you're in and connect you to the nearest orthorative call center.
