Re: Case 6. It's not really much of a mystery. It's almost certain that in her drugged state she dropped that cigarette on herself, and between the sleeping pills and her mobility issues, she set herself alight and wasn't able to put it out (and hopefully wasn't even aware of it). When human bodies burn, they can create a wicking or candle effect, where the body fat liquifies and the stuffing of the chair can act as the wick, keeping the fire going for long enough to destroy a body. I even saw a documentary where they mimicked the results by using a pig carcass, and it produced a very similar effect. The body was destroyed but left the rest of the room mostly intact.

Since I was little I've had an extreme and often irrational fear of fire. Spontaneous human combustion is one of my biggest irrational fears. It doesn't control my life like the fear of fire used to, but it's always in the back of my head.
