I had an M1 MacBook Air and I used an Anker USB-c hub, it killed the Mac. I thought nothing of answering Apples questions about if I had used any non-Apple devices. Apple took the laptop to the back, came back 5 minutes later to tell me I had voided the warranty and I needed to contact Anker. I’m sharing this to say DO NOT TELL APPLE IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WHILE USING THESE. Apple looks for any reason to deny warranty repairs.

the later Big Sur updates fixed this issue- you might have been on an older OS, using a faulty hub or using the hub to power the mac... its always better to use the macbooks natural charger

@@xRamada - The Anker hub wasn’t the issue, it works just fine on my replacement MBAir that I purchased afterwards. Apple was just looking to deny warranty coverage for any reason they could. Not that it matters, but I bought its replacement used because if I wasn’t getting a warranty, why buy new.

I'll be asking this in comments to a few videos about USB hubs and docks. I'm looking for a powered hub or dock to use with my tower PC so I can have on my desk a couple of USB A ports and a USB C port to provide charging and data transfer to my phone. I've got a 100 Watt charger to power the hub through the PD USB C port they all seem to have. Obviously, I don't need power delivered to my PC. Will my PC have any issue with a powered hub connected to it's USB C all the time? The 7 year old PC's motherboard is an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon. Thanks

I have the same device but its different with only 5 in 1 from arizone and unfortunately not working so I have to change his situation to make it work

I bought a few of these, but all of them are fixed to their cables which are not replaceable, and more important, too dam short. Go for the tabletop Caldigit or those with the Gig Lan port!
