You may never see this But this changed me and my family’s life. I got locked up 2 years ago and this was my favorite song. Every time I called my family the last 2 minutes we would listen this. Thank you man for keeping me and my family sane in such a dark time

One of my closest friends took his life a little over two years ago. Every time I would hang out with him at his house before it happened I would hear this song playing in the background and didn't really understand the impact the song had on me until after he died. Heard it again about 3 months after he died while I was tripping and it made me cry uncontrollably. Thank you for making such a beautiful and inspirational song. My goal is to one day make a song that portrays how this song made me feel.

Every time I come back to this video, I come back with a different perspective. At this point in life, I realize why parents are so attached to the memories of their children in their younger years. Because that’s when you have somebody who so pure and innocent, loves you for who you are. You have a little buddy, and they just wanna spend time with you and genuinely love you for you. As we get old, our views become shaped and molded mostly by life depending on how strong your mind is and it can only be so strong in a premature state. We begin to see things different and at times people see their parents or whatever different until they finally get old enough to appreciate them and everything they have done and do. Now that isn’t always the case, and there are other reasons parents cherish their babies younger years, but that’s just where I personally am in life so I see that in this video. You got a mini you that will always love you, so you feel like I don’t need much else in this world but my little buddy. Hence Isaiah saying “if I can pay my bills, I’m good”. If he can take care of him and his child then he’s at peace with life and has everything else he needs, life is what you make it. I’m big on purpose so of course I’ve looked at this video in other ways and will come back and see it differently, but these are my thoughts right now, on simplicity and genuine love.

You do your gender a credit, you're the kinda guy younger kids should look up to with these thoughts in your head. The powers that be try to convince us that money = happiness when that is so far the truth, I'm glad other people see through it too.

This track makes me bawl. Seeing Isaiah have this wonderful day with his son reminds me of me growing up with my dad taking me to the OC, NJ shore. He never had much money but the money wasn't really important because to us kids being in a cool ass place was enough and just living life was enough. That's what this video reflects to me. A struggling father who is just trying to do the best for his child. It's beautiful and real.

SfisoSG That doesn't mean you can't love something that requires money. you can... to be a good person, caring dad absolutely, but it's important to lay some foundation so the kid sees its worth to strive for something in life and always feel safe and let him understand he has a backbone no matter what.
@aramrodriguez91416 жыл бұрын
oldnbaschool totally agree with what you’re saying as well and not to disagree with you but I think the message is to never abandon your kid even for financial reasons
@chrontoke6 жыл бұрын
Yes and finding the message in the bottom of the bottle is probably the realization that it's time to grow up instead of throwup. Then saying your son is coming up would be deciding to learn from it and become better. You wouldn't have just a dollar in your pocket if you didn't drop it on a bottle, a bag, or whatever. Pay your bills and give that cobra money to your kid. And find your happiness in that instead And yo kid would gain perspective from doing so.
@chrontoke6 жыл бұрын
I do want to say tho he makes no reference to him having a kid in the lyrics you've only gotten from the video. He says mama, could be his or his baby momma and he's says your son is coming up. He could just be talking about getting out of the perpetual nothingness that comes with growing up in the hood and not giving into the lifestyle anymore. Heaven isn't just at the bottom of the bottle and then telling his mom her son is finally coming up.

Some are broke some are wealthier than others, it doesn’t matter because we all end up in a grave regardless. What matters is the meekness, the humility, the example you set for the little ones. I love this video so much! I couldn't help but smile the entire time, the interaction with the child (his son?) is priceless and the fact that they have everyone's account balance over their heads shows how ridiculous it is that we place superficial worth on people based on their monetary standing. Honestly, the best joys in life cannot be bought and we could all be gone tomorrow, so why not find something to appreciate in this little time we have here now? Thank you TDE for yet another Great work of art.

This song takes me back to better days, recently married working together to get our own place. Id bump this song on Saturday or Friday nights at home as we would get ready for date night talking about our future. "If i can pay bills im good" and "youre nothing but a baby your fear is growing up" lines would get me. Now we're divorced, in debt, and back in moms house. This song just hits in so many ways bro.
