(one of my spokes broke including the nipple, so the tire had to be removed) (Actually it wasn't the first time, I've helped other bikers with this pump before. It was the first time for my bike! )

It will be hard to pump using only 1 hand and using the other to steady the pump. That is what the footrest is for, so your foot steadies the pump and you can use BOTH hands to pump with. 1 hand on the pump handle and the other pressing down on top of the first hand.

The big version which you do not recomend is actually very useful if you travel by plane with your bike because it fits in your bike case much better (and it's much lighter) than a conventional floor pump and it's much more practical than this one when reinflating your tires once you reinstall the bike. This smaller version is great if you travel without your bike and will rent one locally; you shove this pump in your suitcase and can inflate your tires (with the correct pressure!) during the vacation without having to go back to the shop which may be miles away. Personally I find even this smaller version too big to take on a ride (i'm a road biker)

The plastic footrest worries me a lot. That peculiarity was the main reason that made me discard that pump. Do you know the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HP pump? It is about ten dollars more expensive but the metallic footrest significantly reduces the effort in the inflation and is much more reliable in terms of durability, i think

You have to be pretty weak if you can't pump up a tire holding a super efficient pump like a topeak. You don't even need to engage the plastic foot rest. I got my road tires up to 100 PSI easily using this pump. Just holding it in my hands.. it's not like inferior bike pumps where you are fighting for your life to get above 80 PSI. Topeak pride themselves on efficiency.

my pumps gauge is failing already. goes up and down everytime i try to put air in the tires.

It shouldn't really happen, but this pump is really designed as an emergency on the road pump. Call for warranty.

Way too much power needed and it's too bulky. There is a £13 pump at amazon that us lighter and way better
