My wife and I took those hilly back roads coming in from the intl airport to Topeka. At night in a rental. First time seeing a "Hill Blocks View" sign. Because we didn't realize the new Ktag system no longer had manned toll booths and we declined rental of a transponder. Luckily for rest of the trip she figured out to add a temp account to the rental car so we could take the toll road instead. During the day its really nice. Great vdeo.

Almost 20 years ago I used to live in Lawrence, KS and took a vanpool to Topeka, KS for work and we would take that road to avoid the toll on the Turnpike. I've lived in California since but this video brings back good memories. Thanks.

When I drive from Lenexa to Manhattan, I occasionally like to take this same highway to/from Topeka. And the opposite direction. I hope you get to take old 40 throughout Kansas. :) K-140 from Salina to Ellsworth goes past the old Brookville Hotel. I heard someone bought it and restored the restaurant there. :)
