Taking off from short runway during November sunset. Most amazing turboprop sound ! It cost around $8 millions brand new. The Beechcraft King Air is a line of American utility aircraft produced by Beechcraft. Known as the most sought after turboprop in business aviation, King Air planes are recognized for their iconic design, high safety records, and versatility. It's also quite easy to fly, especially with the autothrottle to absorb some of the work for a single pilot. She could fly maximum range (subject to headwinds, high altitude, hot temperatures, or higher capacity) of 1739 miles and a maximum speed of 368 mph.
King Air line comprises a number of twin-turboprop models that have been divided into two families.
The Model 90 and 100 series developed in the 1960s are known as King Airs, while the later T-tail Model 200 and 300 series were originally marketed as Super King Airs, with the name "Super" being dropped by Beechcraft in 1996 (although it is still often used to differentiate the 200 and 300 series King Airs from their smaller stablemates).
The King Air was the first aircraft in its class and was produced continuously from 1964 to 2021. It outsold all of its turboprop competitors combined. It has recently faced competition from jet aircraft such as the Embraer Phenom 100, Honda HA-420 HondaJet and Cessna Citation Mustang; as well as from newer turboprop aircraft including the Piaggio P180 Avanti, and single-engine Piper Malibu Meridian, Pilatus PC-12, and Socata TBM.
Nearly 6,000 Beechcraft King Airs of 17 variants have been sold since the product line was introduced in 1964, making this the most successful series of twin turbine-powered business aircraft ever built.

I must disagree. The Merlin IIIC is not made anymore. But, they are gorgeous. And those Garrett turbines are no joke. 290 kts for 10 hours. Love 'em.

I used to fly King Airs. The most fun were short field TO’s. Sit on the brakes and spool up the engines, then let off the brakes and feel 1,200 total h.p. press you back into your seat so far you thought the seat would break. Fun stuff!

Two years I had the good fortune to fly on a Lear 75 in a similar situation. I met the pilots at a small GA strip, then sat on the bench seat outside the cockpit watching them do their thing. They spooled up the engines, and then “WHAM!!” let off the brakes… I slid all the way along the bench seat and then fell on to the floor as the thrust just kicked us airborne. Amazing plane!!

I've seen them do this at our local airport. Jets too. I once asked a corporate pilot who told me that some passengers prefer a gentle climb and others don't care: steep climb, gradual climb, as long as they get safely to their destination.

Such a headline, yet no mention of weight, length of the runway, or density altitude- ya know, stuff that supports this is not garden-variety ordinary departure.
