An oddity of Lake Constance is the flow of water, partly underground, from sinkholes in the riverbed of the Danube to the lake. Near the town of Aach is Germany 's biggest karst spring, the Aachtopf which has an outflow of 8500 litres per second. The river from the spring, the Radolfzeller Aach flows 20 miles to the lake.
