Because you can not sell a British (left hand drive) car to a poor (ex Romania, Hungary, Russia) country like you can sell a German car and selling it for 500£ is better for you than trashing it for 100£

+warmfreeze has a lot to do with the market being inflated. if everyone thinks a honda CRZ is worth $5000 then that will become the new standard. It's one thing I hate about the US is the fact that everyone over values there car. and no im not joking go and look. you will find CRX's going for $5000 for no good reason other then "its a cool tuner car"

Like Hammond said at the end, how can anyone feel BETTER than when you drive off the circuit (in one piece or thereabouts) after a rally cross round. I raced in the then 1300 class with a Mk1 Escort for several years, and almost nothing matches it for the pure adrenalin rush you get from taking part in the sport. High speed tarmac and usually even higher speed off road speeds make for a fantastic challenge to anyones driving skills.

They do, all over the US there are rally circuits and straights that race all kinds of classes every couple of weeks. Take a look at your local area and see what's free for you. Buy a VW or a Honda Fit, hook a rollcage and some safety stuff in it and run the stock classes for fun

The point system is actually very simple: There are two races, the points correspond to their place, so P1 gets 1 point, P2 gets 2 points, and so on, the less points you get, the better. Then, the least of the two points gets picked, for example (seventh in the first race, first in the second race), so it's 1 and 7; but 1 gets picked, as it's the best performance.
