Having been an optician for quite a few years I have some advice for you. Number one Having long nails and wearing contacts don't work very well and you need to very careful putting them on and removing them to not scratch your eyes. Also not to cause a small rip in a lens. The rip can then scratch your eye also. I'm not really much of a fan of contacts until some one is fully dependent on their glasses to see. You're clearly not their yet. You have been wearing your glasses as needed which of course is mainly for distance and mainly when driving. Considering that your prescription is only -1.50 / -1.00 you really don't need to be wearing glasses fulltime. Your still able to see quite well without glasses. I assume you are now intending to wear contacts from first thing in the morning until bedtime. By doing that it's the same as if you were wearing your glasses all day long everyday. And even though your prescription is really rather weak it's going to cause you to become quite dependent on fulltime vision correction. Things are going to seem more blurry to you when your not wearing glasses or lenses. I think contacts are great for playing sports and even encourage contacts to anyone that plays sports and especially any contact sports such as basketball, soccer or volleyball. I should add that you look really cute wearing glasses. Something you should know if you don't already know it. Once you no longer have perfect vision it means your going to need vision correction for the rest of your life unless you decide to get lasik at some point. So your going to have lots of time to be wearing contacts. I think you may have only started wearing glasses rather recently because I saw a couple videos where you were driving and not wearing glasses. Considering your prescription numbers you clearly aren't able to see the 20/40 line on the eyechart which is the line you need to be able to see in order to pass the DMV's driver's test. You seem very good about wearing your glasses to drive so I'm sure if you had glasses back then I believe you would have been wearing them. If you have any questions for me about glasses, contacts or your eyes please feel free to ask me.
