@@renslo689 Reminded me more of the Duck Tales Reboot in terms on animation. While I do like this style, I still say they butchered the Dark Queen's Design. Looks more like the crazy lady from the grocery store, rather than an all powerful badass.

Personally, I really enjoyed Battletoads Double Dragon, it was something that I picked up for the Genesis back in the day and I had a great time playing it.

Honestly BDD is what the original Battletoads SHOULD have been. 75% straight brawler, 25% gimmick levels just to switch things up, with the difficulty toned down to something that mere mortals could handle. The only issue was BDD came off as a lot less polished. If they just could have given it the same amount of polish that the original Battletoads had, it would have been a top 5 NES game easy.

I am agree; on the other hand there's no a bad Battletoads game. Game boy version was great too. Another interesting point is that the franchise opened to a crossover with the Double Dragons.

As a childhood fan/sufferer of the NES original, I was more than hyped for Battlemaniacs. I finished the original without cheats in front of a group of friends and wore it like a badge of honor in school. Color me surprised when Battlemaniacs released to find Clinger Winger earlier in the game with a new coat of paint and actually doable with both players. I was also surprised to find out Rat Race was not only easier, but the final stage. Even though I came up in the 80s with stupid hard games and have finished each Battletoads, I am not one of the those staunch crazies that swears every game needs to be Battletoads/Soulsbourne levels of hard. I play my games to relieve stress, not cause it. Looking forward to the Super Battletoads video.

The weirdest thing I've personally experienced with the Battletoads toy line is that I never actually saw the official toys, but did see bootlegs that came out years, if not a decade, after the game series was relevant. Yeah. They had bootleg Battletoads toys for some reason. They were just called "Space" if I remember correctly.

Battletoads arcade will always be the best for me. It's more of a straightforward beat em up which is what I prefer to play with compared to the other battletoads games that came before the arcade version. Love the violent and bloody nature of the game. Rash can cut the rat enemies head with his leg turning in to a freaking buzz saw and zitz can chop off heads with a "literal" axe-kick. Back in the mid-90's when I was 9 or 10, if the malls that I go to had an arcade cabinet with this I would've been all over it but sadly they don't. I didn't get to play the arcade version until mid 2000's with MAME.

Battletoads series = legendary in difficulty, but amazing ideas. Battlemaniacs sounds like more of a remix, remaster, remake. But still delivers what their fanbase wanted. Never played this one

This game has half the levels of the NES game. Battletoads pushed the NES hardware, this game looks like it doesnt push the SNES hardware at all. I think there was a reason this game didnt do nearly as well as the NES game. There were much better SNES games out when this came out while the original was a must own NES game.

Had this game on the SNES. I could not do the 5th level on those railbar handle ride as the game gave me no instructions on how to control, speed up, etc. I managed to get to the level for the first time without using a continue and then used up all lives and 3 continues on that level where I got chopped up on the first 2 seconds 10+ times in a row. That was the last time I ever played it decades ago and likely will never try again.

I prefer the Battletoads Arcade Game that refined what BattleManiacs and the Double Dragon crossover did and turned it into a true evolution of the franchise. Much better than the New Battletoads out on Xbox One

I still have my Snes cartridge of this game. One of my favourites. I like the new battletoads game, it's fun and has good humour but I'm still not fond of the character designs. Wish it looked a bit more grittier haha

Honestly i always felt the first Battletoads and the Battletoads/Double Dragon crossover were the better games. Tho the graphics are more refined i felt the gameplay was better when the character sprites were smaller, plus like you said, lack of variety. And both the first game and the crossover game just have better music honestly, but Battlemaniacs got some goood notable tracks. But this would be a must play for those who are looking for a less challenging time playing Battletoads and it is still a good game nonetheless.

Battletoads is really hurt by being now exclusive to Xbox consoles. Its not the type of franchise one expects from Xbox and on that seems like the kind of franchise that really needs to cross platform to be successful (like Sonic the Hedgehog). It also wouldn't hurt if they would experiment more with the title than they have so far, the toon game was unexpected *humor was on point, albeit watered down*, and honestly feel that game would have had more success on the Switch.

Super Battletoads on the Arcade machines, I never played ANY actual arcade machines due to how hard it was to find back then, but thanks to emulators, yeah I REALLY got to enjoy that, and yeah it's a straight up solid beat em up with ALL 3 toads in the actual roster (and one of them not being kidnapped for once lol) I played it again after taking a look at the new Battletoads remake, and the arcade game still holds up today! I am sorry I appreciate the effort, but taking alot of the 90s flavour out of the series in favour of an "inoffensive Saturday Morning Cartoon look" really knocked down the remake in my eyes, easily one of the worst designs for the Dark Queen as well...

I didn't like Battletoads at all. Especially the NES version. It felt unfinished. They moved too fast. The controls felt clumsy. The arcade felt better and was playable. Battletoads and double dragon was a step back from The home version of both individual games. The graphics were also crappy. As of as it seems the new xbox one version is actually fun. It looks cartoony, and doesn't take itself to seriously. It also plays well. I can actually go what I'm trying to do. It feels like a proper beat 'em up. Maybe I need to give this version another go as well as the original NES version.
