The Rubettes were wise enough not too take themselves too seriously. They relied of melodic pop with clever, smooth harmonies and a steady dose of humor.

i saw manny videos on you tube. alan get verry nice comments from sweet sexy charasmatic etc.thony does the vocals the others to sometimes but alan is always my favorite. i like the others to. but alan is oh boy ❤ enough of the looks etc they are good in live perform verry well the voices a capella. the instruments everything the different songs the messages. under the roof. country. the can do everything. more sounds but the favotite i like the most are from the 50ties. the glam rock. sometimes it has something from the beatles only music cockney rebel. different styles.

At the age of sxteen, I saw them perform this song on Top of the Pops on a Thursday and I bought the single the following day. My favourite Rubettes song closely followed by Baby I Know in second place.

they had a range from "glam" rock through country (entire album), bit of blues, been going as a couple of duos and session guys before being formed into a six piece combo then basically the four carried on mostly Europe and UK tours , later Alan split off on his own touring name with two of the others also touring under Rubettes name.
