The Storm Vector and Silent Hero would make an excellent combo for out in the woods.

Good review, spot on the need of a lanyard. I have been using the Storm Vector for few months already, quite extensively to work on my property, it is a phenomenal chopper, but as you mentioned a lanyard is a must. One negative point is the dangler, if you carry it or intend to carry, I would strongly recommend to ditch the leather "loop" and use a carabiner. The first couple of days, going dense bushes/branches it did unsnape and I had to recover the sheath and the knife on the ground. Beside that, great knife, great sheath.

I got one last year. It chops like a hatchet. Probably work well as machete, or short sword as well.

Ah yes. If only I could find one!

I feel the same way. Been trying to find one in stock (anywhere!) for months now with no luck. Not sure what the point of being a major manufacturer that makes in demand knives that aren't available anywhere.... especially considering how many random and obscure knives they make that are currently in stock at many retailers.

Thanks Tim; I'm a big fan of Tops knives and have few as well as some ESEES. The Vector looks great, but already have the El Chete, so don't see much need for this one. Do you like it as much as the Junglas?

When your feeling better you should do an update video cause It clears greenery with ease and batons wood like a champ. I like to see your thoughts after using it for a bit. And honestly the tip looks fragile but I’ve never broken mine let

Thanks Tim. I didn't even realize the Storm Vector was in production at the moment. Good heads up.

I like the more neutral handle than a lot of TOPS knives. Also like the forward weight and I know TOPS work magic with their 1095 heat treat.
@blackforestghost12 жыл бұрын
You make interesting good videos, Sir ! Now to this knife (only my opinion) : I like the blade design, reminds me of a "German Sax", and I like the blade length. 1095 is a fine reliable steel. BUT, I think it would be more efficient and focused on real survival, if it would have a thinner blade (maybe 3mm) like a machete. This heavy thick blade will cause a hurting wrist very fast, when you`ll have to chop your way through a wild part in the forest and needs much too much energy when working a longer time with it. And regarding its length, this heavy thick blade is not needed, it would work as good with a thinner blade, too (eighth of an inch) as a good chopper and even better for penetration in a hunting or defense situation.

Hi Tim, Great review brother. I bought the Tops Storm Vector a few weeks ago and I absolutely love everything about it…..(except the handle). It feels like a rounded off 2x4. Can you recommend any companies that can do a handle reshape? Thanks!
