TOPS Silent Hero Knife Hunting Survival HERO-01

I have a TOPS Apache Dawn with Rocky Mountain Tread handles. Seems everyone on YT thinks they're too aggressive. I honestly don't see it. Works great for a secure grip. The online place I bought it from will never admit it, but mine was clearly a customer return item. Perhaps the original buyer also didn't like the handles. Oh well, that explains the lower than average price I was able to get mine for.

I just got my Silent Hero. Did a little wood work with it, but haven't had a chance to test it much. Very good initial impression. Feels fantastic. Fit and finish is superb, as noted. Comes wicked, hair popping sharp. This is replacing a very nice Benchmade as my EDC. I can't wait to process an elk with this thing in the fall!

I have the Silent Hero and the Esee6, I find the SH does everything the 6 does...but better and more comfortably.

I have the esee 6 with TKC handles and just ordered the SH im looking forward to comparing the 2, I like the story line behind this knife and who its being used by!!

Man I so wanna get a Tops, have you ever seen their Longhorn Bowie knife? Its an amazing blade and I think you would love the handle, I'm like you and love having a choil it has almost the same concept as the Esee 6 design....I got my eyes on it and the handle is nice and big very smooth NO rocky tread.

great review dude OK your on the spot the tops or the esee 6? hope some gear companies grow a pair and let you test some their stuff there in Africa, rough environment that would put gear to a real test.

+rob roberts Hi Rob thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it! To tell you the truth it is a close call between the Tops and Esee 6, but would take the Esee6 because of more versatility -- It is a bit better all-round knife. What is your preference?

+Survival Zone Africa honesty I don't have either knife but from your reviews I would probably go with the tops as a main blade and the helle as a backup blade. of the blades I have I would go with the kabar fighting knife as a main blade and my benchmade bushcrafter as a backup.

The Silent Hero will be my next purchase, I just took delivery of my new TOPS steel eagle delta class ' hunters point' 107c today I look forward to your review of the steel eagle under African conditions if your man in Sandton can hook you up!

hey brother great review just wanted to tell you that you can buy the silent hero with smooth micarta handle like I did but you have to call tops and order it. The representative I talked to said they are going to release a silent hero 2.0 in the future witch the only difference is the micarta handle. Thanx and God bless chief!! My favorite knife that I team up with my sxb!

great review--saw the one on the tex ceek xl first.. wish your location didn't have all those screaming engines in the background--sort of defeats the idea of being in the wild--otherwise i like the set and plan to view all your videos--cheers!

There is another user who stated the smooth micarta grips are thinner, and TOPS did not countersink the screws properly for the new scales. Waiting for a second opinion before i go for smooth scales.

good point raised about the lack of gear that we get here in SA compare to other countries. Hopefully someone can change that in the future. Does anyone know of a good Kydex sheath maker in SA?

@@SurvivalZoneAfricaZA with the handle upgrade the silent hero edged out the esee 6 by a little bit cause the smooth scales made that much of a difference and we're slightly thicker and more comfortable to hang the original silent hero
