I gave it a thumbs up as it wasn't bad and covered the most basic features of Vald'Isere but ya missed what it's really all about; On a bluebird day shredding those beautiful off-piste Val d'Isere bowls with some gnarly lines through those remote, beautiful virgin bowls bombing down without a gaper in sight. Just rippin' the pow man, rippin' the pow man.
@topsnowtravel14 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and for the thumbs up! You're absolutely right, there's so much more to Val d'Isère than just the basics. Those off-piste bowls and the powder runs are some of the highlights for sure. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future videos when diving deeper into the adventure side of things. Hope to cover more of that in a full review soon. Keep shredding the pow!

So, if you are taking a family ski holiday in January (Australian summer holidays) with 2 adults (1 expert, 1 intermediate) and 2 kids (12 and 10yo intermediates) do you choose Val D'Isere/Tignes, La Plagne or La Rosiere and why?
@topsnowtravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, It all depends on what criteria is most important according to you. If you want high standard accommodation and want a village with great atmosphere, choose Val d’Isère. If you still want a good standard accommodation but something more quiet and on a smaller budget, choose La Rosière. If you want convenience with lots of ski-in ski-out options and on a budget for price and standard, choose La Plagne. I would also recommend for families a pedestrian only villages where all accommodation is ski-in ski-out and with a beautiful ski area: Avoriaz 1800 Here are our guides to those ski resorts: www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-val-d-isere/ www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-la-rosiere/ www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-la-plagne/ www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-avoriaz-1800/ Hope that info helps 😊

Is this good for beginners or skiers who don’t have more than a week’s experience?
@topsnowtravel3 жыл бұрын
The ski area has a huge beginner and intermediate slopes (green and blue runs) at the top of the mountains which you can easily get to from the village via gondola 🚠 (either Olympique or Solaise gondola) however to ski back to the village, the slopes are fairly steep (red runs) so more suited to intermediate level ability or advanced. You can however just catch the gondola down to avoid those red or black runs. For a better suited beginner ski resort with nice and easy green/blue runs that flow into the resort, you could try Avoriaz 1800: www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-avoriaz-1800/ Or choose from our Top 20 Best ski resorts that suits your needs best: www.topsnowtravel.com/top-20-french-ski-resorts/

The problem is that there is no one there!! Why? they cant afford it. $500.00 per day. People are starving around the world!. Starving !! Crazy politics in USA says stay home and wait for the sky to fall!. Why don't you make a video asking the hotel association to max their high end rooms at $100.00?? They should not be charging more than $60 a night on average! And bring back $25 a day skiing! No fun to worry about money when you're skiing, no fun at all no matter how upbeat your music is! That glass of wine and burger at the top you're simply not enjoying!!....... At all! Don't promote these places till they lower their prices! Massive lay offs around the world, high unemployment make it impossible for people to think about skiing and that is why these ski towns are dead!!.
@topsnowtravelАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns. You’ve raised some important points about the affordability of skiing and the challenges faced by people worldwide. It’s true that the cost of ski holidays, including accommodation, lift tickets, and dining, can feel out of reach for many. These are valid concerns, and affordability is a topic that resonates with many in the travel and ski community. However, the pricing structures of hotels, ski resorts, and related businesses are influenced by a variety of factors, including operational costs, wages, and maintenance of facilities, especially in high-altitude locations. While $25-a-day skiing and $60-a-night rooms sound wonderful, it may not always be feasible for businesses to sustain such pricing while maintaining service quality. That said, many ski destinations are actively working to make skiing more accessible. For example, some resorts offer discounted passes for beginners, multi-day packages, or off-peak pricing. Exploring these options can help make skiing more affordable for a broader audience. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. Your passion for fairness and accessibility is clear, and it’s a reminder for all of us to think about how we can encourage more inclusive and sustainable travel experiences.

@@YgalSharon Ha ha ha. First of all you don't even know what my country is, secondly Val D'Isere isn't the biggest or longest resort in the world. French lift systems for example are decades behind those in Austria, French resorts are largely purpose built and ugly and many have insufferably long transfer times and terrible transport.
