The moment you need to close the dor twice, you realise you're on a Golf 2! Brought me back old memories. So my cousin had a 1987-Golf 2 from 1998 to 2012. The engine had never had any failures until it was sold. in 2012, my cousin called us to go pick up his old car because the first one, a Landrover from 2003 had failed, so we had to support him. He worked in the mountains and initially we were surprised at his suggestion. We picked up the car, drove up the mountain and the car performed like a tank. Never disappointed us on our way, but we just had to stop two times for the car to cool down. Otherwise absolutely stunning performance. Had I had more money then, I would have taken the Golf, modify it, and use it as an old-timer.

It's about right 140mph, when I did a top speed run with mine, I was hitting the limiter at 140. Very scary as the old golf was wanting to shake itself to pieces, that car doesn't sound stock, it's engine is whirring on pull away revs from the beginning of the video like it has a smaller pulley so tuned a little, I've had my G60 for 14 years, the best version of the mk2... Well that and the Rallye of course. Cheers james from the UK. Great video

Ja, das war ein schöner Wagen. Bei 3/4 tel Gas ist er in den Drehzahlbegrenzer gegangen, das waren echte 242 km/h , aber es war auch ein Nothelle Umbau.😊. Der VR6 danach war nicht so toll, hatte weniger Leistung und doch mehr verbraucht. Ich vermisse den G60 😢😢😢

With the RS2 update to the G it have 215 hp and drives 240-250 😜 awesome cars. I have a Corrado G60 (now turbo), and i love that old volkswagen cars❤

Noway, the RS2 modification isn't here to give you HP.. The pulley actually do, the rs modification is here to improve the reliability of your G in case of smaller pulley installed on it. I guess not more than 10-15 hp are made from the RS modification.

This car is pretty quick! For it’s time it still works great! I think 180k KM driven is not much for this car! My Škoda octavia is driven around 170k KM and still drive great! Just made a POV on it! Great drive and drive safe! 🛣

Great car and 230kmh on clock is fast for a boxy car like the Mk2 Golf. I had a 1988 1.8 8valve GTI and maximum I got was 205kmh on the clock. As noticed in the video the Mk2 Golf is very noisy at high speed with alot of engine and wind noise

Vous devriez monter un couple conique plus long, celui des corrado G60 réf boîte: Type ATB pour gagner en vitesse de pointe et en allonge sur chaque rapport. Avec une EPROM SLS et une poulie de 68mm. Ça rappelle la grande époque ou on allait entre potes se tirer la bourre sur l’autobahn fiat uno turbo polo g40 golf et corrado VR6 M3E30 etc... de vrai voitures encore à cette époque!!! Super partage merci que de bons souvenirs d’une belle période hélas révolue...

The car seems in good condition. The G lader wasn't a very strong compressor back in the day. Many people I knew had them replaced once in a while. Same like the Renault GT5 Turbo- An expensive repair costing around 2500-3000 Dutch Guilders if I am correct.

У меня была Каризма 2000 года 1.8 GDI 125 кобыл я при весе 100 кг +200 кг багаж ездил по автобану в Германии 213 км/ч. Продал 03/06 о чём до сих пор жалею. Хотя у меня имеется Мазда 6 2005 года 2 литра 139 кобыл автомат и Киа Соренто 2003 2,5 соляра тоже на автомате. Но Митсубиси была на механике другие ощущения + была и очень экономичный с полным баком 60 литров проезжал свободно 1000 км Расход был в горной местности. А так трасса по Англии от 4.7 до 5.4 город Лондон 6.3-8.7. До 100 за 8.7 секунд
