Work from home soon on the building arena. One worker needed to operate 100 of them and 50 men can be redundant. Fabulous.

Here is an idea for some innovative start up out there: automated pothole filler. Once an exact accurate GPS coordinates are given of a pothole it will fly or drive a pothole filling robot, it will fill enough asphalt to fill it, spread it out to be even, and compact it, than leave. Ideally done during night. No human involvement.

May I ask how you found all these companies in the robot-assisted construction industry?

The first clip is entirely accurate to just how shitty Jedi are at their job. The second one is cool, but it can't possibly be cheaper or faster than just hiring a moderately skilled human crew. The painterbot is leaving obvious bare spots by the door trim, even in the demo intended to show how awesome it is. The Hilti bot, I don't have anything negative to say about it, except to question the expense vs value. The Dusty Robotics layout bot seems pretty cool, but it's intended to address "skilled labor shortages." There is no such shortage, just a lot of companies who refuse to pay a living wage to skilled workers. Same issue with the roadwork bot that follows it, and the robotic backhoes after that.

God, thank you for pulling out how obvious these robots suck at their construction work. With no way in hell that at this level is a robot match the millions of tedious little things you gotta do when doing construction work. All these robots put together couldn’t match the skill of one highly trained human. These robots are slow end fucking retartred!

I would like a 1million plasma robot I could frustratingly control from my phone I would drive around to do everything far slower and less expertly while I struggle with it's controls. That would be amazing.

As the owner of a construction company, since the 80's, I can see many applications where these robots could be used...Primarily large site, operations...Seeing the depletion of the labor market over the last 2 decades, it's good to see science finding alternatives...Maybe in a hundred years; the tech will be equivalent to good old manpower...So the residential/small commercial contractors can take advantage of the tech..They still look so primitive to me, compared to how we thought they'd become during the 60's and 70's...

This make sense to me. why we humans need to risk our life and limb working under sweltering heat Dan dangerous rain with lightening. Why not using robots in construction doing projects we wanted without any injuries and accidents? All we need is completion of the projects right?

지금도 기계가 다 할수있고, 기계가 다 완성이 됐는데, 기계를 도입하면 고용률이 떨어지고, 실업률이 증가하니까, 이걸 막고있는거아냐, 참 이상한 세상이야.

Aspirational BS. designers dream all you like. Putting this on a building site would make a workers day a useless, timeconsuming nightmare. (AND THE WORK WOULD STILL HAVE TO BE DONE.
