I have a few very specific questions. Do you have to practice all the elements every day such as volley smashes, drop shots, slices, serve in tennis wall because you want to have a good feel and control for them. And to do an imitation for every single shot every day to maintain your feel. That's all I do because in the group training we have we don't do all the shots at once.What do you think about that.I hope you will answer.
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Жыл бұрын
It’s almost impossible to practice each shot daily. If you have 4-6 hours a day to train, yes, do it all. For me, the daily must dos are the serve, forehand and backhand drive, and some volleys. Everything else can be spread out during the week. All the best Simon

For the last short balls drill shouldn't you practice also coming to the net after these shots? Because this attacking shot wouldn't be always the straight winner, right?
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Жыл бұрын
Yes you can also practice coming into the net off that shot but would become a different drill in terms of repetition.

Drill 1 and Drill 4 seem similar, both being defensive. Is the main difference that in Drill 4 you need to return with higher trajectory?
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Жыл бұрын
Drill 1 is lateral side to side movement so not necessarily defensive, if you can get behind the ball you can play more aggressive. Drill 4 is moving back defensive so further back behind the court which requires more height to get depth 👍

If backhand is your strength, do you really want to run around the forehand to hit the backhand? I feel like this puts me way out of position and I just need to improve my forehand because the forehand is the shot that needs to be more versatile…
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Жыл бұрын
You definitely need to improve your forehand if that’s your weakness, however there is nothing wrong with running around it to hit backhands in matches if you are better at it, practicing it will make it feel more natural which is exactly what this video is about! Even pros do it, as an example: I played Benoit Paire a couple of times in tournaments and he does just that (because he has a world class backhand and it’s a big strength) compared to the forehand which is average at pro level. Thanks for watching! Alex

It's practice, perhaps you've heard of it, you know, where you work on weakness, sharpen strengths, etc. etc.
