i watch you catch fish after fish and your videos are awesome i just got a yak and live in victoria i was wondering if you knew any good spots for mangrove snapper in portoconner.Thanks and always tightlines
@TrailChaser6 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, most of if not all of the POC mangrove snapper got killed last winter when we had those hard freezes. I never caught any at all in 2018. They're reef fish, so if they're around. They will be near some kind of underwater structure. I'd look for them around the docks and jetty rocks.

What kind of Kayak is that? Im trying to getting into Kayak fishing. Normally just wade fish but I want to get a little more mobile.
@TrailChaser5 жыл бұрын
It's the Topwater 120 made by Old Town. There's a link in the description with all the details. I highly recommend it. I'm loving mine.

What do you think of that last king reel so far?
@TrailChaser5 жыл бұрын
The Kodiak is a beast. Most of my reels only last a couple of months, but it's been on the boat for over a year and a half and feels and reels like it's still brand new. Now I have the new Sharky III Gold, and the Speed Demon on my other two rods. I'm honestly loving my Kastking reels. I do get them for free, but I'm not paid to lie about the quality. At this point I'd buy them if they stopped giving them to me.

Thanks for the reply I enjoy the channel! I bought my wife a Mach inshore spinning combo made by lews and it has me really looking into the spinning reels for myself! I just want to get the best bang for my buck!

Well, what did he measure? Did he go on the stringer with his buddies or get released... 🤔
@TrailChaser6 жыл бұрын
IIRC, 18" and yes that fish was on the stringer for sure!

Hey man your my favorite channel on you tube! Been watching since your awesome story telling in your motovlogs.( Mexican bus driver story was my favorite). Just a quick question for you please. I live in San Antonio and have a 19.5 foot Shoalwater tunnel v. Thinking about keeping it in Port Oconnor. Redfish are my passion but noticed you fish very skinny water. Do you think my boat can run shallow enough to fish that area effectively, or would rockport be better. Thanks, Adam
@TrailChaser6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, those old videos are still on KZbin, I just have them unlisted. Most of the fishing I do in POC could be done from a boat if you don't mind a little wading. I'm usually just working shorelines. Either place would be great, but I seem to catch more reds in the POC area, and more specks in the Rockport area.

I wanted to venture out more and really explore the area, but that damn wind kept me from getting much done. Mark and Nick both went so far north they were out of sight in no time. Maybe we can meet up some time. That was my first time fishing there, but I really like that area and would like to fish it more.
