I know it was technically after what is included in this clip but Esther's death really upset me. I had fallen in love with her character over the past 9 and half hours of watching so to see her killed so brutally at the very very end was so upsetting.

Miracle Day is so underrated. There are much worse seasons in TV Shows in comparison. The entire fourth season was so intense and gripping, even though it wasn’t perfect or could never really compare to the previous three seasons, as it was more Americanised. I personally don’t mind the change, it was refreshing. I really enjoyed these 10 episodes and I would hope for a season 5, but I have to prepare for the fact that there may never be. I’m thankful enough for the amazing four seasons we received! Torchwood is such an amazing show and it will always mean a lot to me!

Reading this comment meant a lot. I'm glad there's someone else who actually views 'Miracle Day' as a good season. Personally, it's my favourite season. Yes, there are many issues, many flaws. There are a lot of things I really hate about it. However with that aside, it's still my favourite. I've rewatched it all within a day with just after rewatching season 3, the same day. So Torchwood is something I could spend ages watching. For me, it's a fifty-fifty. I really enjoy season one and two's layout, however I also really enjoy the storyline layouts in season three and four. I would like Torchwood to return back to season one and two's layout style, however if it ever returned with a season three and four layout style, I'd love it just the same. One major downfall I have with 'Miracle Day' is how it makes Jack "mortal". His blood has absolutely nothing to do with his immortality in the slightest (as we know from fact). It was Jack being brought back to life by Bad Wolf who altered reality and accidentally brought him back forever, making him a fixed point in time, and rendered immortal. Personally, I have my *headcanon* where Jack is still immortal and there's something else causing The Miracle. If you think otherwise, that's absolutely fine. This is just something I've fused together in my head as Jack is my comfort character, so him staying immortal is something I will constantly uphold. Other than that, and some other issues, 'Miracle Day' is absolutely fantastic, and definitely earns my favourite season of Torchwood. I appreciate how you're very heartwarming and thankful for all the seasons we got rather than all the ones we could have. It's nice to know some people are just grateful for what they have. Stay safe! :)

My biggest issue with this finale is the fundamental misunderstanding of Jack's Immortality. He's a fixed point in time. The Miracle under the Earth would not have the power to swap out Jack's mortality, and his blood certainly wasn't the cause.

Yh, Rose told used the power of the tardis to keep him alive, the tardis revives him every time he dies. Short of the tardis dying there is nothing that can take his immortality and short of someone absorbing the heart of the tardis again nothing can make someone invincible like him

@@bigboibejamin3776 its not even the TARDIS, Rose looked into the time vortex and then gained the powers of a God and when she brough back Jack she brought him back forever, even if you were to destroy the TARDIS is won't stop Jack's immortality. I didn't mind this series. Torchwood in any quantity is good enough for me but I wish it was linked to Bad Wolf in some way as it was Bad Wolf that gave Jack immortality in Parting Of The Ways.
@Lucien00123 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more! We know from fact that Jack's blood isn't what caused him his immortality, and his immortality isn't linked with his blood whatsoever (bar the fact it'd come back when being healed/resurrected). I personally like to think The Blessing was created by Bad Wolf. Rose couldn't control the power she brought upon herself. She had no idea how far she could go, and the power was so immense, it caused her to completely lose control. She said "everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies!", but then she created an immortal afterwards. So either that's a loophole because she's referring to everything except Jack (due to her stating everything dies before making an immortal), or she meant it and at the same time she made Jack immortal, she made something that COULD potentially kill him (to keep her word of "everything dies") and thus... The Blessing. Jack is human... and The Blessing affects humans only. The connections are already there. Russell T Davies once mentioned in an interview (can't remember which one) and said The Blessing comes from beyond Reality itself. Which is interesting, because Bad Wolf also has the power to alter Reality itself as well. Again, establishing that connection to Bad Wolf and The Blessing. And if we're being entirely honest, the one thing that makes him immortal COULD be the one thing to take it away. So for me, The Blessing is related in some way to Bad Wolf. This is just my headcanon, and I allow you to think anything else. :) Also my headcanon, Jack cannot be killed whatsoever (regardless), and will ALWAYS come back to life. Not even Bad Wolf can kill him. Again, this is my headcanon so please don't take this as factual or try to argue against this statement, this is more for my own sake as Jack is my comfort character. You are welcome to think otherwise though. :) Stay safe!

Man... The end of this season kinda blew, Jack doesn't have immortal blood, he's a fixed point in time, also him giving someone a blood transfusion doesn't make them immortal either.... Such a good season only to fall apart at the end.
@scantopup22264 жыл бұрын
even though he is a fixed point everything about him is in a cnonstant state of regeneration, his cells are breaking down and reforming, but due to him bieng a fixed point time won't let him die, he can "die" from blood loss but his body will keep making it so in essense his blood is immortal
@EditedAF9874 жыл бұрын
Jack’s blood is actually a fixed point in time like he is (there’s a hotel room in Cardiff that got bordered up because his blood kept on coming back after it was cleaned) so the Blessing must’ve used it as a rough template and redirected it’s connection to the time vortex to the rest of humanity. As for Rex the extent of his immortality is unknown but it was definitely induced by the Blessing rather than a blood transfusion
@AJSZodiac4 жыл бұрын
@@EditedAF987 which story is the hotel room from? Sounds very cool.
@williamantcliff71334 жыл бұрын
@@scantopup2226 I don't know. Think that's a little shady personally. You do make a valid point but I still don't think it covers it correctly. His blood just isn't special. Yeah, his body makes more of it if he dies but, if you or I lost a lot of blood due to an injury for example, our bodies would heal and make more blood. But our blood isn't special. When Rose took control of the time vortex in series 1, she could see all of time and space at once and so brought him back each time he dies. So when she was Bad Wolf, she did it once, because all of his deaths happened at the same time from her point of view. But from our point of view, he's being brought back multiple times. But each time he comes back, it's traced back to the same Bad Wolf moment. His very existence is the fixed point. Not his blood, not his body, just him. And yeah, I think the blood transfusion making Rex immortal was a bad move. Way too much focus on the blood.

@@AJSZodiac it comes from the big Finish audio “The conspiracy”. However the blood thing isn’t actually mentioned until in an In-universe podcast called Cardiff Unknown

That scene is so great! I had hoped to also get the earlier scene with Jack and Oswald in the hostel, but two scenes per episodes can ' cover everything. I think the season was very good. As much as I like the first two seasons, these long story arcs are so intense and allows far more complex storytelling. And regarding Rex, I still think it will wear off as long as no one proves me otherwise.
@Lucien00123 жыл бұрын
*THEORY:* Rex is only immortal on earth. Think about it, The Blessing is what's given him extra life. More life than he had bargained for. However The Blessing only makes those immortal if they are within the Morphic Field (which is what The Blessing creates around the earth). So anything that moves outside of the Morphic Field (earth), The Blessing will not be able to reach, and thus render Rex mortal: killable. I believe if he was to ever stand on another Morphic Field (a 'Null Field'), he will be rendered mortal also. As Jack mentioned, with facts from Angelo's death, the 'Null Field' cancels out the main Morphic Field (around the earth, caused by The Blessing). So if Rex was to ever stand on another Morphic Field ('Null Field') or was to ever leave earth, Rex would lose connection to The Blessing and be rendered mortal, being able to be killed permanently. This is my theory, though I welcome you to depict a theory of your own! :)
