Had many holidays here in the seventies - where did the shingle beach go? we could walk out onto the shingle level with the houses for fifty yards to the sea!!

Coastal erosion seen to that. The beach at times is often twenty foot lower than it was 20 years ago

I am truly sorry for all those affected or afflicted by this colossal storm.I spent many years at sea and know,only too well,what power the seas have when whipped by gale force winds.

cripes they need a better sea wall to brake those waves a bit better if these storms are going to stay as they have been doing. Makes me feel lucky i'm in blackawton, we only had a bit of flooding and some trees down. Nothing like poor Torcross.

Why it can be unwise to live DIRECTLY on the ocean...sometimes the water comes in for a visit.

i feel really sorry for all those people with what the sea has done to the houses, maybe it's time to build that wall higher with the seas getting worse every year. glad i live in chesterfield.

From the pictures I can see the 'cheap cowboys windows' who con you into double glazing as opposed to the genuine ones. Any respectable firm would screw the frames to the surround before adding any expanding foam (if it was still needed) - done properly it usually isn't, apart from a little mastic around the in and outside of the frame
