Torent Duck (Merganetta armata) on the Rio Quijos, Ecuador.

A short video of a pair of Torrent Ducks filmed at Guango Lodge, Ecuador. A pair of Torrent Duck have a quite a large territory along a section of a fast flower river, usually at an altitude above 1500m. In this case the Rio Quijos. It was a privilege to watch them at fairly close quarters as they effortlessly swam and fed in an extremely fast moving part of the river, made even more treacherous with the recent heavy rainfall.
This clip was filmed on a Sony RX10 mkiv.
