So you'll notice when you click a skull it will flash all the skulls that its rune # is. EG: I click a skull and we know this skull is a 3 rune change, well when I click the skull it and 2 other skulls will flash (3 total). You simply click each skull & it will flash the skulls that its change # is & remember the locations of 4,3,2 & 1. Then you use the process of starting w/ 4 & working backward to 1, clicking each skull until the chain behind it vanishes & you eventually open the chest. You dont have to pay attention to the runes or their colors at all, just what # skulls flash when you click each skull.

I didn't get it until I read this coment xD I was clicking 4321 and it wasn't opening. Then I read this an realized I had to click untill the chain behind that skull disapeared :P ty for this

For anyone who has trouble: If you have the right runes identified you have to click the rune until the chain behind the skull is gone. Then switch to the next runes and repeat!

This is absolutely correct, but what he doesn't EXPLICITLY say in the video is that besides determining the 4-3-2-1 ordering, as you click the rune that changes all four, what you're doing is clicking that rune until the chain behind it disappears. Then you go to the rune that changes three runes and do the same (i.e., click until the chain behind it disappears). Following the 4-3-2-1 progression, you will remove all the chains, and the chest will be accessible. This is the same method I used in Torghast, and it still works on Dragonflight chests.

Please, slowly walk through what specifically you are doing. What does "solve each one" mean? (you are just clicking them) Edit: What "solve each one" means is, you click that skull until the chain behind it in the correlating spot disappears.

Oh, THAT'S how it works.. I've seen people explain it before, and talking about how one changes 4 another 3 etc, but thought they were talking about the CHAINS, not the runes. How has no-one else explained THAT little detail more clearly? (I stopped trying and instead bought the chest opening thingies from Ve'nari, but maybe now I won't have to.)

i see///you leave out HUGE piece of information just like EVERY other explanation vid i find. "Solving" means you click that lever until ONLY that lever's respective chain has disappeared". so the lever that controls 4 chains is 3rd from the left. click that lever untli there is one chain missing in matching spot on chest. then click the lever that controls 3 chains until the ONE chain that matches it disappears (this would be lever on far left, chain on far left)...now you have 2 left... etc...

Even after watching your video 5 times, the puzzle is still too complex to solve. Some skulls turn off 1 chain, some turn off 2 or 1, some turn off either 3 or 1, others just turn off 2. There is none of them that focus on any specific chain. Maybe after I get a PhD in Statistics with a minor in Mathematics I'll be able to solve it. Until then, it's just a click and pray puzzle.

Lol, I promise that one skull swaps 1 rune/chain, one skull swaps 2, one does 3, and one does 4. Like, for real for real no cap pinky promise. It doesn't change or do sometimes one and sometimes three. Always 1234. Or 4231. OR 2413. Just solve high to low. Worst case, you can spend 50 stygia on a thing from vanari that insta solves any puzzle.

@@WtbgoldBlogspot It's possible that there may be more than 1 version of the same puzzle then. I promise that I clicked on 1 chain and a varying amount changed each click. The pattern was the same, but the amount of chains varied with each click.

Each skull changes either 1, 2, 3, or 4 runes. When a rune changes, the chain behind that rune cycles between locked, locked, locked, and unlocked. Step one: identify which skull changes the color of all 4 runes. Cycle that one to unlocked. The other skulls won't ever lock this chain now. Next find the skull that cycles 3 runes. Unlock it. Then find 2 and unlock it. And then cycle the last skull. To save time I seperate the "identify" and "solve" phases. I just click each skull and identify each as a number, 2-4-1-3, or 1-3-2-4, whatever it is and solve them all at once.
