@@lindsay556 plenty on KZbin discussing the difference between INFP and INFJ - hope you’ve found a few answers in the past few days - but the INFP’s primary function is ‘introverted feeling’ while the INFJ’s primary function is ‘introverted intuition’. The NF part of our personalities makes us both ‘idealists,’ so we do both share a lot of the same values, and I would say we have a lot understanding and respect for each other in this S-dominant world we are both living in.

Gods, she's such a towering, intimidating genius. As an INFP wannabe writer/instrumentalist, listening to her music & interviews makes me so insecure (I know, there's no joy in comparison). She's such a thinker & visionary & voice, with immense courage, drive and work ethic, as well as an artist & poet, whereas someone like me is just a person with a notebook and pipes and hypersensitivity and too many dreams. Tori steers into pain and pleasure and inspiration, where I tend to shy away from it. She can grab hold of ideas, smelt them or sublimate them in ways I just can't seem to. Am in awe of her and feel privileged to have been her fan, but it depresses me that I'll never be as sublime.

I think all INFJ’s are.. it has a lot to do with our extreme sensitivity, but mainly our cognitive functions; let me explain. All INFJ’s are master of the spiritual and emotional world. From age 7-16 it feels like we are subconsciously mastering psychology because of the way our intuition works. Everyday we are picking up tiny things on humans in every interaction of our life to get the biggest and most clear picture that is conceivable. Once I was 15 I had mastered it completely. I wrote a post on Facebook in 10th grade that got 200 likes. Which is a lot in a town of 2000 people. We know what humans want to see, hear, think, and feel. It’s common sense to us. Because of the way out intuition gathers the information and creates a beautiful picture in our head for us. Then our Fe gathers the collective feelings of the people. With these 2 paired together is what makes us so understanding of humans. This is what makes us able to create beautiful poems, art, music, entertainment. We are master writers, poets, musicians. Fe is all about harmony, creating harmonious bonds, and also musically harmony, harmony with words. I love my brain :)

heal yourself. boundaries. i am in a process right now of shadow work and healing my inner child. you have to accept yourself and not take on other people's baggage. you get caught up in it and don't know whose stuff is what, it's just intertwined. i feel like i was constantly punished for being me, i wasn't accepted. i pushed that deep into myself and it caused a lot of problems in my life. accept yourself, and follow your light.

The INFJ shtuff is nonsense. If anyone is, it's Tori Amos, however. It just drives me crazy how comment sections are populated with people who claim they're all INFJ. If they were truly INFJ, they'd be intelligent enough to comprehend that it is described as the most rare personality type because it is rare, meaning that most people do not fit that category. Even if you were INFJ, you probably wouldn't know or care. Having said all that, human minds are far too complex and diverse to be categorized by one of only 16 types, if not too complex and diverse to be categorized at all.

And the INFJ function stack is the mirror, i.e., Introverted Intuition, Extraverted Feeling, Introverted Thinking and Extraverted Sensing. Why are they all now typing the INFP artists as INFJ? INFP can switch into INFJ or ENTP mode depending on the situation. Especially, when we are passionate about something and have done enough inner work on it. I mean Tori is a great person anyways, but I could identify with her music a lot and the mood it has. And I am INFP.

To be honest, I love Tori's music, but every time I've seen an interview with her, I always have to wonder: is there something wrong with her? Mentally? On one hand, she seems super intelligent. Tori acts like an INFP, but I don't know her well enough or at all to tell if she's INFP or INFJ. I say she acts like an INFP because I also need to make hand movements to figure out what I'm trying to say, and also, I'm awful at keeping track of what I'm trying to say. It takes a lot of energy because I rather I take my time properly digesting my thoughts out than say what comes to mind. Hence, scatterbrain. I even lose my train of thought while talking. Tori has that daydreamer look, looking around or up, and that's hugely an INFP trait. I don't think it's always a good idea to base someone's personality through one's songwriting. The artist can be influenced and taught to write a certain way, which can be relatable to our personality types. Tori was influenced by the songwritings of Leonard Cohen (INFJ) and Joni Mitchell (INFx), so it's not easy to dissect one's personality when one inspires to write similar elements but original ones. The reason why I mention this is because an artist such as Mitski is considered an INFP based on her songwriting. However, Mitski has admitted on a podcast that she is, in fact, an INFJ. Mitski was influenced by the aching voice of Jeff Buckley and storytelling of Kate Bush, who are said to be INFP. I think what really sets myself apart from the INFJ is that the former is true to oneself, and the latter wants to be true to oneself, or another saying, INFP believes, whereas the INFJ doubts. Whenever I take the Myer Briggs test, I can only be INFP even when trying to escape with INFJ, I still, inevitably, get INFP. That's because my mind stays true with who I am. I read a conversation where Tori Amos says she is neither optimistic nor pessimistic. She is a pragmatic individual. But that doesn't take away from feeling optimistic or pessimistic. An INFP looks at things realistically because they believe, whereas an INFJ looks at things realistically because they doubt. I believe Tori Amos is an INFJ. I wouldn't call myself a pragmatic person. That's something an INFJ will (or might), confidently, say. 😂 Bjork has also described Tori as wise or sagelike, which is what an INFJ is depicted of looking like. Again, I don't know Tori Amos well enough to say what's her personality type is, but I do believe she is an INFJ. Tori quote: “I’m pragmatic. I don’t choose to be pessimistic or optimistic. I’m a Libra moon. So I go on that seesaw. I’m trying to find balance. I’m trying to find clarity because I find safety in clarity and not notions." Keyword: safety (Type 6)/ skepticism

I also see her as INFP they're truly the dreamers and have this fantasy life style which extendes over to everything around them from what they wear to their homes , INFPs are oriented about the details/materials that carry a special meaning for them ( Fi- Si) . INFJs usually don't get sentimentally attached or express themselves randomly as INFPs do . They're much organized and guarded . Tori is much in her own world
