One of the songs I specifically picked for my big brother when he passed. He got me into the awesomeness of Tori when I was barely out of diapers and it’s one of the best things he ever did for me.

I lost my mother ten years ago, and this song reminds me of the feelings I had then and continue to carry now. It does help that my mother was Irish and the images of "The Land of Youth" and the "Mighty Stars", which are cornerstones of Celtic belief are in this song. I play this every 10th of December in memory of her, and more importantly in celebration of her.

Seldom do I comment. Please listen. I have noticed Tori since Little Earthquakes. She has consistently written and performed her works to the greatest extent and depth of her talents, which are considerable. This album is no exception. She champions women writers. This album honors all those who have preceded her embrace of the "classical" both living such as Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush or not such as Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Schumann, and Fanny Mendelssohn. Tori should be applauded. Bravo!

This song is so beautiful, the words and emotions of this song had me crying so hard.My mom was just 58, and I am a 35 year old gay ears with feet. Thank you Tori for creating the soundtrack to my grief over the loss of my mother. When I would drive to the hospital, it was Suede: "Oh... little sister I hope you didn’t feel that way, An oh... little sister I’m glade you came," And now that she is gone I will hear "You will not ever be forgotten by me in the procession of the mighty stars..."

I was awake late last night , and a little annoyed by the post-midnight air traffic. I watched Tavis Smiley's interview with Ms. Amos on PBS. At the end, she played and sang this song...I forgot all about the noise... I just turned on the TV this morning. The interview was on again-- and I listened again. This is so lovely. The lyrics are beautiful. I have a new favorite song to purchase...: )

Anyone under 40 has no business judging someone for wanting to maintain their looks. Tori is blessed with talent and beauty, and it's her business what she wants to do with them. It'd be a bigger tragedy if she just threw it all away and stopped making music, and looking beautiful. No one who's been in limelight as long as Tori gets there without making enemies of certain fans who think they own them. I really don't think Tori cares if some people are jealous haters, because she's already won.

Lady Amos as I like to refer to her, is classy with an emotional EQ of the scale. There are no other female vocalists like her or writers, she still has mystery, drama, intellect that surpasses many people: vocally spiritual, compositions that are master pieces and plays the piano with grace, beauty and passion...

Music has power in what you take from it. You can either listen and appreciate it's simple beauty or internalize it to apply to what you are going through. She is an artist and creates what she hears inside. She has no control of what happens after you hear her music. Don't blame it on the artist, just know that it is how you use it's power. Love it!

I have a feeling that this album will probably become her best since her debut Little Earthquakes, because as a songwriter, Tori is bringing us something that she's never done before, classical chamber music! I really enjoyed this song a lot. When she sings it based on the classical melody of the piano, she still feels much like an alternative pianist. It's nice to hear her sing classical song too cuz she's kept her voice in great shape. It's NOT alternative rock, but it's the pure TORI music!

I love that this is part of a larger narrative. We're missing this in music, today; music that serves a purpose other than as a distraction or "space filler" for other activities and zoning out. Popular music is now background noise, not so much about sitting down and listening to a story. This makes you zone back in. I'm reminded of The Moody Blues, Tori's earlier work -- music that digs into what it's feels like to be human, not just something to go shopping to.

Once I let go of that desire I was able to to just listen to her music free of expectations or hopes and appreciate the MUSIC, which is what it's really about. She's said time and time again she avoids reading what we and others write about her and her music, so really, who was she really making it for? Our enjoyment is a byproduct and a gift we should be grateful for!
