This is unreal, I can't believe what I'm hearing. Absolutely impeccable voice! Someone please give Tori a contract! Her voice must be shared with the world.

Not surprised she has high end equipment. She is a trainee audio engineer with the voice of an angel. She was 21 a few days ago.

I heard Karen's one verse duet with Perry back in 1970, on a Christmas special. Enjoyed it. Fast forward 54 years and, thanks to your channel, I get introduced to the whole song ala Tori. Blown away, mesmerized - there aren't good enough adjectives to lay on this performance by her and Dan. Best I've ever heard this song. Thanks for the techie explanations - I have watched your presentation half a dozen times, the song by itself countless times. Has anyone ever said your eyes reflect the mood of the music? They also dance to a lively song. Thanks for your both heartfelt and technical responses to music!

I'm so Glad Tori has the renound U-87 Neumann microphone to capture her beautiful voice. To me this song really shows Tory at her best putting feeling everywhere in these lyrics. And the pairing of Dan Wesley's piano with his wonderful harmonies made this video absolutely gorgeous! Thank you Gina for the audio knowledge you gave.

As you have probably been told, Tori is also a sound engineer. Although I rather doubt she is going to bo one of those for much longer. She and Jim Midi Doctor JUST dropped a cover of Close to You which you may need to check out. Dan was reacting to Tori singing, and he was inspired to create a backing track for this song that Karen sang one verse of on a Como tv special. He contacted Tori and she told him this was one of her favories, but she couldn't find a good backing track. History.

I don't know what your personal setup is for viewing a video but your eyes say it all. Your sincerity is palpable. I also totally appreciate your knowledge and insight into the recording aspects that are being employed in the creation of piece like this. There's a good chance that Dan Wesley who arranged this collaboration with Tori might drop in to fill in some details, but all I will add is that Karen sang one verse of this song with Perry Como on one of his television specials over 50 years ago and that served as an inspiration for this video. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your reactions to Tori's music and would only like to thank Joe for his commitment and persistence in keeping reactors enlightened with the gift that Tori has been willing to share.

Hey Steve! What you didn’t see but was in the live. Gina subscribed to Dan in the live while setting up the video. Across the Pond, Dan noticed a pop up saying new subscriber. He looked and traced back and popped into the live and revealed himself to say thanks. The was a moment, let me tell you. Too complicated to make it into a reaction but kinda goosebumpy. Absolutely beautiful recording. Yes the U87 does capture every nuance and overtone of her voice. I am glad that you pointed that out. I have used the U47 fet in the past and have gotten great results with it. Great microphones.

Both the 87 and 47 were Karen’s microphones at A&M. Primarily the 87.

Hi Gina, What a wonderful and detailed reaction! Thanks for the word “plosives” a new one to geek out on! Yeah, that microphone captured it all so well! The previous Blue microphone certainly was shooting above its weight because it did extra duty capturing her vocals for all the previous songs. This and her Short of “Sam” were the first uses of the U87. You heard her ending high note. Well the in next song she made with Dan, maybe a little more of that is coming up. 😊 See you in the next request live… Joe Extra credit question: if the mic you are using is successful in eliminating the plosives.
