Colors of the Wind is one of my favorite Disney songs. As a little girl the lyrics ringed so much truth for me and til this day I try to live a life where I don’t judge people who have walked different lives, but welcome them. Especially the words, “You think the only people who are people Are the people who look and think like you But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger You'll learn things you never knew, you never knew.” Thank you at Tori Kelly for bringing this song back to mind once more. I love how understated Tori's vocals were in this. I love the lower, and warm vocals, and then the sweltering, and smooth moving chorus. Her voice with the harmony of the background was perfect, and then the bride she really took it up, and made for a beautiful climax in the song, while still honing in the warmth of her voice. I think it's just that her Christian music doesn't appeal to an audience as large as Unbreakable Smile. Hiding Place is a Christian album, so people who don't believe in Christianity may not want to listen to that sort of music because it doesn't connect with them as deeply. But I do agree that it's good she hasn't forgotten her roots and her beliefs.
