I'm a man and this album, along with my dog Cracker helped get me through some tough times and a divorce in the early 90s. I spent many drunk nights lying on the floor clutching my dog while listening to Tori. The dog I had found as a puppy tied to a post in the back of someone's yard obviously neglected, and I randomly stopped and asked if I could have the dog. They said yes, so I had no choice really. The dog's new name was "25 Bucks and a Cracker". She was the best dog, ever.

As a guy who loves women (perhaps sometimes more than is good for me), I am always interested in what women have to say. It helps me to understand them better. Also female vocalists are simply better, whether your talking about classical or pop music. Show me a male singer as good as Tori, or Amy Winehouse, or Sheryl Crow, or PJ Harvey -- or Waltraud Meier, for that matter.

My fellow 16 year old friend was like you have to hear this. She played the LEATHER. I WAS INSTANTLY HOOKED AND HAD TO HEAR THE WHOLE ALBUM. We found out she was coming to play at our city's State theater. Somehow we managed to snag the three Dead Center tickets front row balcony. We bought special outfits. When the lights went down everybody was whooping and cheering and yelling for her and clapping our hands off... Then all of a sudden spotlights come on her at her piano, she touched one key in the room went silent!!! I've been to probably 100 different concerts and I've never seen anything like it. I seen her dead center front row at her Grand rapids show like 4 years later, and then a couple years later is Lansing. It's always the same thing the room is cheering and clapping she presses that one key in the room goes silent from respect and attention. There's nothing like seeing Tori Amos live there is just nothing else like it. ** And I've been to Prince, ACDC, Tom Petty, and Ani DeFranco. Nothing touches the performance the energy and the experience of a Tori Amos show.

Another male fan here - in 2021. (And again - now in 2023.) Even after all of these years, I still love this album. Some songs still make me shiver, such as Silent All These Years and Precious Things. She put so much of her own soul and personal pain into her music. I admire her bravery. Maybe that’s why I love it so much - her poignant honesty is timeless. So expressive and emotive. Despite the fact that (as a hetero male) I haven’t directly experienced what she sings about, I still find her stories moving. I have empathy and can imagine how much pain she (and all of us) have endured. Some of it is universal human emotion. We all feel sad and lonely sometimes, as of no one else hears us. Beautiful music from a beautiful person. Timeless. Thank you, Tori. God bless you.

Sincerely hope you've been in a physical room IRL with other tori nuts at a meet & greet, Q&A, show or signing. There's something mysteriously magical and powerful created by her fanatics and I've experienced a ton of cultish live acts in concert (everything from Radiohead & Pearl Jam to the Dead, Metallica and Dave Matthew's Band) but there's something unparalleled about the energy created between both her and her audience. THE CLOSEST tangible thing I can use to relate to it to even begin to describe the experience would have to be would be my first times rolling on ecstasy in groups of my best friends in the '90s.

+Katie Rebecca Wilson When men deny their anima, the part of us that is female, they often cringe at anything that might make them feel sensitive or seem weak. I like many, many kinds of music and am also a singer/songwriter. I feel that Tori is one of those rare artists who were truly touched by the divine and allowed to speak to a huge audience about the most private parts of herself, and thus allow others to feel connected to those aspects within themselves and each other. Though it is true that she criticizes men in some of her work, I don't take it personally. Men have had their chance to run the world and I welcome a new day. I think that The Beekeeper is her masterpiece!

I remember seeing Tori Amos on MTV back in the day(little earthquakes). Cannot believe how often I listened to it then and now still remember all the words and they still have great meaning.

Wow, this is a great trip down memory lane! "Upside Down", "Take to the Sky" and "Sweet Dreams" are amazing! I remember they all appeared on the "Winter" maxi single at the time. 20 something years later - these songs are still amazing! Thank you for the music Tori

Turn the lights off, light the winter wood in the fireplace, crawl one step closer to the flame and as you're face warms, pull the wine, smoke the cigarette and shake you're head in pure enjoyment.

I first heard of Tori Amos in 1996 or 7. Michelle Quan skated to the song winter. I used to skate and the verse I put my hand in my father’s glove rang deep in my life. I figured skated on and off, and my dad was my biggest supporter. He died when I was 18. Years later, the other song that rang true was Crucify rang true again. I was being bullied by my sister-in-law to have children . The first version of the song about wanting to speak up the bowling ball in my stomach, desert in my mouth, figures out my courage sell out now is EXACTLY how I felt. I finally told her off when she was pressuring time to have a second child. After that, she never bothered me again,BUT she took it on my son, no Christmas card or birthday presents. Never acknowledged him

When I was a teenager, I was reading about Sandman, when mr. Neil Gaiman spoked about Delirium and Tori Amos. At first, I thought "A guy have inspired him to do Delirium?". So I searched. Well, years passed. Tori still my favorite musician. And will still be through the ages.

Tori Amos (and her first three albums) was the best thing musically to come out of the ’90s. When this album was first released, I quickly put her in the same category as my all-time favourites, right up there with Ian Anderson, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Richard Thompson. I turned all of my friends on to LITTLE EARTHQUAKES, and they all loved it!
