The fact we are amongst the wealthiest countries in the world and have nearly 20 % of the population in poverty a high percentage are in work ! This is a national disgrace ! Oh and Sunaks tax rate being just 23% speaks volumes as to where the problem in this country lies , incidentally my tax rate is 40% this increases due to the supposedly high earning tax which takes away child benefit , this was introduced by Osborn in 2013 the threshold is the same as when it was introduced at 50 grand , plus income tax threshold’s have been frozen for the last four years , like I said at the start I don’t mind paying tax for our society , but not for some leeching torai scumbags to fill their cayman island bank accounts.

@BCJ198511 ай бұрын
That would just put too much demand on goods and services and cause an inflation spiral, not to mention create a fiscal black hole. The way to improve living standards is plentiful supply of goods, services and labour, with progressive workers rights. This is usually achieved with free trade and proper investment in infrastructure. Without those, money effectively becomes valueless and it most certainly would with your suggestion.
